10 minutes of clear skie.
This is the time that has been given to me to realize this shot. 10 minutes to realize an idea germinated in my head a few week ago. Nothing has been simple.
At first I spent some time to do research on the Internet and detailed maps to locate this little hidden place. Next came to locate directly on the coast for a final location.
This done, I went back at night last weekend and waited three hours, sometimes under the rain, waiting for a possible clear skie …
It lasted 10 minutes, half an hour before moonrise!

One reason zoo guests like to watch the penguins eat lunch is that they often try to steal fish from each other. Their antics draws laughter from the crowd, which encourages the penguins to do more.
The female closest to me did all the work. She used her sensitive antennae to locate a sawfly larva inside the tree trunk. She carefully calculated the exact location to drill into the wood to reach the larva, paralyze it and deliver an egg to it. She is in the drilling stage here. The 2nd female behind her is hoping to harass her enough for her to give up & leave. That way the 2nd female can use the existing hole and deliver her own egg. I read the females will duel with their antennae sometimes when competing for the same egg host. This explains why there were several females on the same tree trunk. Some were drilling into the wood and others were harassing the drilling ones.

On the morning of March 11, while my wife and I were watching the Auroral activity occurring actively, but well off in the north,(pictured below) there was another, fainter, and more or less stationary current of Northern Lights spread across the sky towards the south, but this formation had to compete for visibility with the immense electric icefog glow of the city of Whitehorse, just upriver a ways.

Bali (Indonesia) - I don't like cockfighting. In Bali, it's a national sport. A friend who works for a trade travel magazine told me that if I had some pictures of the fights he could buy me some for his newspaper. The only restriction: no too bloody scenes. Since I did not see how to photograph bird fights without violence, I gave up on honoring this order.
I didn't think about it anymore when I ran into this man who was walking with his rooster along a road. Considering the size of the rooster and the care he gave him, I understood he was a fighter.
Despite the language barrier, I could understand that he was walking his champion like every day to keep him in shape ... Before getting plucked in the ring.
