US and Russia are competing with each other in order to take the oil and gas fields in south and north of Iraq. Last week Iraqi Ministry of Oil declared that is going to work with some foreign firms in Mansuriyah gas field located in Diyala province, near the border of Iran. Mansuriyah is expected to have around 4.6 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, producing 325 million cubic feet of gas per day.
US appreciated Iraq to increase its gas and oil production to become less dependent to Iran. Russia also wants to compete with Saudi Arabia as the US companion in oil and gas production.
