A comparison of the resin colors of Fairyland's "Natural" of 2012 (on the left) and Withdoll's "Normal" of 2013 (on the right).

As you can see the match is quite good. There is a slight difference, but it could easily be blushed.

DLD is color max = pure white, but yellowed.

Above, the US (Sanford-distributed) Kuru Toga, which comes in any color you want as long as it's black.

Below, a Japanese 0.5 mm Kuru Toga, in blue.

I bought the latter at Marukai in Costa Mesa. It's sort of a club store, but not really; non-members pay a dollar extra on their total. They sell the Japanese Kuru Toga for $6; if you buy only one, it's no cheaper (but also no more) than the US Kuru Toga, which goes for no less than $7.

They ostensibly only sell pink ones (for some reason), but they also had black and blue ones. You can see here which one I bought.

The package is better, if only because it says “KURU TOGA” in big letters at the top, as compared to the US package, which might easily be misfiled among the rollerball pens.

Apple iPhone 5 Unboxing and Comparisons

Today my volks tanned bodies arrived! I was happy and sad at the same time, since I had to pay really high taxes. Anyways... I was so excited that I decided to take some comparison photos. The thing is that it was already dark so they're not really good.

From left to right: obitsu 27cm white P, obitsu 27cm natural P, volks tan 27cm A, pullip type 3 tan, pullip type 3 white and pullip type 4 white.

As you can see I haven't even started Melissa's makeover. I have no idea how to trade the bodies, that is not her wig (Alice let her borrow for this photo), the spray haven't arrived and I didn't even start sanding her face. Hehehe. And my Tiphona still doesn't have a name. I was thinking maybe Stella or Marcela, but I'm not sure.

----

Da esquerda pra direita: obitsu 27cm white P, obitsu 27cm natural P, volks tan 27cm A, pullip type 3 tan, pullip type 3 white and pullip type 4 white.

Obsessive comparison between the Canon 5d2+35L @ f/2.0 and Fujifilm x100 @ f/2.0 (previous image). Both shot raw.

Surprisingly, the 35L gave me a 10% wider view than the x100 lens.

Even though the apertures were the same, the full-frame 5d2 has that lovely shallow depth of field which gives the subject more depth. I just read an argument that the x100 lens at f/2.0 is equivalent to f/2.8 on FF 35mm which might partly explains the difference in DOF.

Here is the most famous shot of the Liberty 2 (Icarus Type) spaceship crash in the Forbidden Zone on top, and below the same scene in 2015. Depending on what you read and where you read it at the Liberty 2 spaceship crashed sometime in early 3955, in August of 3956, or possibly January of 3979.

Note: It was tough to get this shot lined up with all the landmarks visible all at once, I believe the movie camera was probably a few steps away, but we were within 10' of the location where the movie cameras were set up for sure.

I had someone on YouTube ask for comparison shots of my Vito boy next to a doll in the SD size range as well as a JID boy (included my Fairyland MNF A-line boy just cuz).

The Vito really doesn’t really fit that well with dolls as big as my YID Justin. He’s about the right height for a short adult or a young teen, but his head proportions are too small and Vito boys generally have pretty adult-like faces so... xD I’ve always personally preferred Vitos with mature minis, since they generally just look like taller than average people or whatever.

This is a comparison of field of view between a Nexus 5 phone camera, a Seek XR and a Therm-App thermal imager using 6.8, 13 and 19mm lenses.

No attempt has been made to get good quality results on any of the images - please use them for field of view reference ONLY. The 6.8mm image looks particularly 'washed out' because no compensation was made for the extremely cold sky. However, it's almost exactly the same field of view as the phone camera.

All the thermal images are white hot.

As far a practicable in the short time available all images were made from the same spot, give or take a few inches.

These images show quite clearly that the Seek XR FoV is pretty much the same as the Therm-App with 19mm lens (but the actual resolution is considerably less, as per the specifications: 32,000 pixels vs 110,000)

I'm saving up for a 640 x 480 imager, with 307,000 pixels - the image quality will be about the same level of step-up again. Thermal imagers generally sell for roughly one US sent per pixel, which is why the Seek is $300, the Therm-App about $1000 and a 640 x 480 in the region of $3000.

A 24 megapixel DSLR would cost a cool $240,000 at that rate.

No-one has publicly admitted making uncooled long wave thermal sensors anywhere near that size, and they'd be HUGE: at a state of the art 12µm pixel pitch, the sensor would have to be at least 60mm square - plus packaging, so likely about three inches across. Germanium lenses would be cripplingly expensive, too, as they'd need an image circle of about 75 or 80mm. Meaning a really big front element to achieve a decent f/ number in the region of f/1 to f/1.4, as required for uncooled imagers.

Comparison Shot between a normal saw and my stoner lmg. Admittedly not the best mod, but I'm proud of it. Special thanks to Will for making this mod possible

Well, as you see, its a bit off.

Except from the nose, which was my biggest fear :D

Actually I was comparing a new tablescratch, a A320/321, to his blueprints. And in fact, my model didn't share to many similarities with the original. Then i compared the 737 just for fun. I have no Idea how, but i managed to get the fuselage itself quite to the dimensions i wanted. Without any specifications/blueprints used.

Wheels and Wings need some work, but it will take some time.

Comparison with Osato Pagos.. There is small size difference and the horns on its forehead are in different spots.

Another by request, resin comparison of Bobobie and Asleep Eidolon normal skin girls. Bobobie is much darker and peachier. The AE NS resin is very light, a lovely cream color. The difference is more pronounced in real life than the picture shows (sorry, I really tried!)
