A compact city car with a street-racing paint job.
A build that I dug up from my "lost" LDD days before the dark ages of high school and college, but updated and redesigned with new pieces, building techniques. The goal was to make a tiny car to fit two minifies side by side, while still keeping it as small as possible. It's still large and bulky, but I blame the "thicc" proportions of the Minifig for that.
Inspired by the classic Mini Cooper and the Fiat 126 (the Polski, as East Europeans know it)
The Last RWD compact BMW. De #BMWF40 modeljaar 2020 is de 3e generatie #1erBMW. De RWD-architectuur is nu omgeruild voor FWD, als purist probeer ik met deze nieuwe realiteit om te gaan. Hoe? Lees verder. Op 7 maart rijden we voor het eerst in een electric MINI. Er waren twee olifanten die een deal in de weg stonden: de beperkte reikwijdte, in de praktijk rond de 150 km en de stevige prijs, in Yours uitvoering ruim boven de € 40k. Is dit het moment om nog één keer een ‘old school’ RWD rijdersauto met benzine motor veilig te stellen? Een bijna nieuwe #BMWF20! De tweede generatie van de #BMW1er werd in 2011 onthuld. Na iets meer dan drie jaar kreeg de #BMW1Serie in 2015 al de eerste van twee facelifts. De #BMWF20LCI ontving voor de modeljaren 2018/2019 in juli 2017 zijn tweede en laatste Life Cycle Impuls en ik had nu de ultime kans een up to date F20, ‘that still chews up pavement with its rear wheels’, voor mijn vrouw te kopen (ter vervanging van haar 8 jaar oude MINI). Hier is de deal. Diverse jonge 2019 BMW 1 Series, staan met 35% discount bij onze BMW/MINI dealer in veel kleuren en uitvoeringen met 24 maanden BMW Premium Selection garantie. 'Silber' is altijd een klassieke Duitse race kleur geweest. Ik kan me niet voorstellen dat een vintage BMW 328 Mille Miglia, Porsche Speedster of Mercedes Gullwing niet ’Silber’ is. Vandaag reed ik de 6 maanden in 2019 tenaamgestelde #MetallicGalciersilber #BMW118i 8 speed Steptronic 'Sport Line Shadow Edition’ (inclusief Comfort Pack, Executive uitvoering en een nieuwprijs van rond de € 40k) in onze garage. Vanuit Maastricht naar #BSSRhouse had ik al uitzicht op het 8,8 inch grote touchscreen van de NAV Professional en nu kijken de full-LED koplampen mij van voren aan. #AtHomeWithMyBMW geeft een goed en veilig gevoel, tijdens de huidige #CORONAlockdown. Onder de motorkap van de BMW 118i zit misschien wel de grootste verrassing, een lichtmetalen motorblok van slechts 108 kg, die deel uitmaakt van dezelfde motorenfamilie als de driecilinder van de #BMWi8. Een halve 6 cilinder in-lijn, met een cilinderinhoud van 1,5 liter en een 8-speed automatische transmissie van ZF. De allerlaatste RWD #BMW1Series, verlieten eind juni 2019 de fabriek. De datum 1e toelating/tenaamstelling van onze #FutureClassic #BMWF20LCI2 is 24 juni 2019!
It's nice to finally have a phone with a camera good enough to use as a point-and-shoot (it's a Z3 Compact, not sure why Flickr is calling it a D5803).
This is my favourite of the walk to work shots, although I did get a couple of looks as I crouched down and fiddled with a rusty old incinerator dumped by the main road.
The Sandugo was a blood compact, performed in the island of Bohol in the Philippines, between the Spanish explorer Miguel López de Legazpi and Datu Sikatuna the chieftain of Bohol on March 16, 1565, to seal their friendship as part of the tribal tradition. This is considered as the first treaty of friendship between the Spaniards and Filipinos. "Sandugo" is a Visayan word which means "one blood".
The Sandugo is depicted in both the provincial flag and the official seal of the government in Bohol. It also features the image of the blood compact. The top of the seal explains the history behind the Sandugo event that occurred in Bohol, the fleet and the location where the Spaniards anchored and the place where the treaty was conducted which was dated on March 16, 1565.

The three-inch Compact Floppy Disk. Amdek was a big vendor of Compact Floppy drives for the popular U.S. 8-bits (Apple II and Atari, anyway).
I grabbed such a drive and a box of blank Compact Floppies for cheap back in the late 80s for an Apple IIe of mine. It plugged into the standard Disk ][ controller and offered 140K per side (they are "flippy").
These are at least twice as thick as today's (well...yesterday's?) 3.5-inch microfloppies.
The Red-Shouldered Hawk (Buteo lineatus) is a medium-sized hawk with broad, rounded wings as with most from the Buteo genus. Females range up to 24 inches long, wingspan up to 50 inches, but only weigh up to 2 lbs. This species is monogamous and territorial.
Depending on the habitat, this hawk preys mostly on snakes, frogs, insects and mice.
Only around half survive their first year. Most threats are due to natural causes, logging of environment, road accidents, starvation, and humans hunting them. This species is not currently considered conservation dependent.

I've been wanting to try a standing workstation for quite a while now and I finally took the plunge a few weeks ago. Like the author of this post on Web Worker Daily, I didn't want to spend a lot of money setting it up. After experimenting to find just the right height, I discovered that I could obtain that height simply by using an empty cardboard box from our food delivery service (I even get a new box each week with my fruits & veggies delivery).
The best thing about this compact setup in my kitchen is that at the end of each day I tear it down and pack it up, which takes all of 5 minutes and puts a firm cap on the number of hours that I end up working.
A really nice 3-series that looked like it had been cherished, backed up by the current low mileage (47k).

Story: After I put up the video of my retouching on the Jonnie Walker shot I got a meeting with a company that makes cosmetics. Since I didn't really have any cosmetics in my book I spent some quality time shooting specifically for that meeting. This was actually the shot that I started with. I knew I wanted a shot of a compact and this was basically the most difficult compact to shoot I could find. The entire thing is mirrored.
Lighting: The compact is sitting on a white seamless and there are two lights. There is a bare dynalite 2040 head from camera left providing the hard shadow. Then there is another bare head from camera right pointed to the seamless and that is what is providing the light fall off for the top. If the seamless is one color then the chrome doesn't look chrome so you have to get some light fall off. In addition to the two lights there is also a reflector right in front and a reflector overhead. The camera is just able to get between the two reflectors which is why the compact is small on the sensor in the before shot. I really needed that bit of light on the edge around the actual makeup.
