This is a funny looking car I saw while touring around Munich. It's a one seater that has four wheels.

This ‘compact-reflex’ SLR camera was manufactured from 1977 onwards by the Japanese company Cosina (named Cosina CSM) for Porst in Nuremberg. Its M42 lens is an outstanding, fast lens that still impresses today with its sharpness and optical performance. CdS light metering and an electromechanical focal-plane shutter were, along with other features, state of the art for their time. It also still works perfectly and is in good condition, having always been well looked after. A flash is also included!

We have an old dresser -possibly about 200 years old and sold to us (almost half a century ago!) as Scottish rather than Welsh. As well as the usual cupboards, open shelves and three "main" drawers, it has ten little drawers which are useful to take all those odd items which don't belong anywhere else in the house. Drawer Upper 4 (from the left) contains an old tin, some cartridges, a book of matches for the Queen's Golden Jubilee and an old enamelled powder compact (tiny and still containing powder) which belonged to my paternal grandmother and a tiny "Victory" mouth organ.

Recently I was lucky enough to win a place on a street photography course with Amateur Photographer magazine. My first ever photography "lesson", and I really enjoyed it. So much so I bought a new camera...! Expect to see more from my new Fuji X-T10 in due course. I'll still be using the Panasonic LUMIX compact too.

This morning I was trying to take a picture of Sydney when I saw Jessie observing herself in Jane's compact mirror. So I snapped this picture of her(and me).

These CN C40-8M's are funky, yet cool to look at. The shortened trucks, squashed yet spacious cab, cowl carbody, and even paint schemes make them a desirable catch.

One such example, CN C40-8M 2405, leads CSX K426 as it holds short of the signals at Nicholas Rd near Dayton, OH.

Hickson Compact Group 68 is like a little box of assorted galactic chocolates. There's a lenticular galaxy, an elliptical, a couple of S0's and a pretty barred spiral Seyfert galaxy. My favorite in this field is the "little" spiral galaxy, UGC8841, at the top left.

rolling fills again... this time with Self, Fakt and Fener

Yesterday (za 10/10) i decided to go and check out the Clingendael park. It's a wonderful and huge place with a rich history prior to it becoming a public park (1953). In addition it has the largest Japanese garden in the Netherlands, which i unfortunately didn't visit. The reason for not visiting is that it got rather small paths and a lot of people. Even tho Clingendael is a great place, i wouldn't recommend going there for the purpose of capturing insects. It's great for mushrooms in autumn and flowers in spring and summer, but it's quite busy and not really the place for spotting wildlife. Next week i'll explore the Cronesteyn, which somebody recommended to me.

It's been trimmed multiple times this summer.

I would like to thank all of you that have taken the time to view and comment on my photos, it is very much appreciated.

Made by Florida wood turning artist Stan Liner, these beautiful wooden pieces would look beautiful gracing the hall, living room or dining room of any contemporary home, adding a smartness and style with their elegant lines and beautiful woodgrains. Stan uses exotic woods like African Ebony and Bubinga. So why a compact home? Well, in truth these four pieces of beautifully turned wood, are in fact pieces from my 1:12 miniature collection. Stan Liner is a miniature artisan, specialising in making wonderful pieces out of cast off pieces of rare wood. The Bubinga wood finial on the two piece footed urn makes this piece only two and a half centimetres in height! Incidentally, the finial, which is five millimetres in diameter, can be removed from the urn, just like a life sized urn lid can be!

The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" on the 29th of March is "wood grain". I had several ideas, including a lidded container I have made of rare Tasmanian Huon Pine and a close up of one of my fence palings. Then, after I took a couple of rather disappointing images of the Huon Pine lidded container, I suddenly remembered these beautifully hand turned wooden miniatures made by artisan Stan Liner. The pieces stand on a miniature demilune table featuring a mirrored top, and the background is wonderfully hand printed paper from an artist friend of mine in America which wrapped one of her Christmas gifts to me. Anyone who follows my photostream knows that I love and collect 1:12 size miniatures which I photograph in realistic scenes. The artifice of recreating in minute detail items in 1:12 scale always amazes me, and it’s amazing how the eye can be fooled. I hope that you like my choice for this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile.

I need your help!

I am looking for a compact camera for your handbag or your pocket.

You should have at least 12 megapixels. The accumulator must be replaced. But it should not cost more than 200 € also. Who can help.

Up to this point I haven't introduced my Lumix Panasonic DMC-TZ40 which has been converted to monochromatic infrared. It has a Leica Elmar variable zoom lens that opens wide to the equivalent of 24mm with a maximum magnification factor of x20. Very powerful for a compact camera and most useful with infrared.

This is a handy little camera to have in my bag for when the conditions suit infrared. As I've shown previously it is possible even to take infrared night vision shots with it.

That is possible with this camera for two reasons: (1) It has an inbuilt image stabiliser, and in the dark (2) takes multiple exposures of a scene and blends them in camera to form a single night vision image (all without the need for a tripod).

In camera it produces some nice sepia tones and I can then convert these to straight black and white if I choose. The key to infrared is learning to work with the light conditions and through experience anticipating how the infrared will look in the finished composition.

because im toby or kalon, yeah

let me know what you think because I don't normally mod.

yeah, there's more and more...
