I decided to look at my digital archives, to recover and reprocess some old straight-out-of the point and shoot camera jpgs.
I'll post one picture every thursday, with the motto "Great places, bad cameras"

can you click a pretty picture with a $40 camera? yes you can. clicked using the diminutive Pentax Option A30. 40 bucks on eBay.
Hi everyone!
I took my bike out early one morning this January to try and find a new place to shoot... but it wound up being very grey, so I waited around a few hours before getting cold, then captured this shot before I left.
It's a good reminder to me of a very interesting day. I walked around (couldn't ride my bike safely through a lot of the slippery terrain as there was a mix of ice & rain) and learned to shoot other things since nature didn't offer me the landscape I had hoped for ; )
The object in the photo is some type of eyebolt, which I believe people have anchored their boats to, hence the title 'Anchor Bolt'.
This bolt was protruding from a shoreline rock, covered by a slight layer of ice, which was cracked all around its base.
It was very cloudy that day, so I decided to shoot this one in Black & White to accentuate those properties, since the color was mostly missing anyhow.
Something different for you guys from me : )
Oh! Yes, that is a smokestack in the center of the bolt's eye!
It's also where the sun is trying to peek out from underneath the cloudy sky.
Thanks for your support guys, hope you find something interesting or enjoyable here!
I'll be around to visit those who leave comments as soon as I can : )
Have a wonderful day my friends!
☺

I've loved being able to see the comet from my doorstep. However, I wanted to capture it from a different perspective this morning. I was pleasantly suprised to see it easily fit in the frame with the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge.
Sinds ik niet meer actief op pad ga met al mijn spiegelreflexen, heb ik een compactcamera aangeschaft. Eentje die mee kan op de racefiets. Vandaag even getest of het werkt.
Since I no longer actively go out with all my SLRs, I bought a compact camera. One that can go on a racing bike. Tested it today to see if it works.

This lovely arts and crafts style building in Hobart's Macquarie Street is now a periodontal surgery. The convenience of the Lumix DMC-TZ80 pocket camera is evident, as I was able to grab some shots when my appointment was over.

Hi guys! ☺
Sunrise photo taken in late Spring... a few seasons back :-)
The trees were already so full & pretty that Spring, and the little red house glowed warmly in the early morning sun.
I usually like to capture water with mirror-like reflections, but there was a light wind and small amount of ripples which couldn't be avoided...
but I think they kind of added to the atmosphere after all :-)
Earlier that morning, I had stood on the pier (the one you see reflecting upon the water),
and while standing there taking photos, I heard the sound of hinges creaking.
I looked back to see a window opening in the red house (pictured),
and a woman looked out upon the same sunrise which I had been photographing.
So I grabbed my gear and left the pier, to give her an unobstructed view.
When I arrived at my next location (from where this shot is taken), she had made her way outside and was standing on the same pier I had been shooting from earlier.
She began to stretch in the morning light (which probably turned into a yoga routine,
but I turned and walked the other way to give her some privacy).
It made me happy to think others enjoy these moments in similar ways as we do when we're out and about in such beautiful surroundings :-)
I've been away and busy with the offline world (all is good though).
Thought I'd check-in today and post some items from the archives :-)
(I'll swing by this week and catch up with everyone as well !)
May you find something interesting or enjoyable in these photos today ☺
Thanks for all your Views, Faves & Comments dear friends!
Have a beautiful day ahead everyone :-)

Gold Fishin'! (Golden Fisherman)
: )
Hello my friends!!!
...Dedicated to a special friend, included in the text below...
Another photo from the beautiful Greek island of Crete : )
I captured this one on an early morning trek out to the beach... and saw no one else except for this lone person fishing (on what looked to be a sea of gold!)
This is another photo taken with my older Sony HX60V compact camera, after my newer one had broke a few days before.
I remember it was very bright & hard to see through the LCD screen (even though the morning had been hazy) and I had to zoom in to capture this scene... as they were quite far away and I was on another pier.
I missed the articulating screen & viewfinder of my HX90V (I have another one now!) but I was still pretty happy with the outcome of this photo : )
(These colors are SOOC)
Decided not to crop this one as it portrays the way I remember the moment... a huge, empty morning of golden ocean & sky, solely filled by this lone fisherman on their pier : )
Dedicating this one to my friend Charlotte... charhedman ... who inspired me with her own fisherman photo recently (which included a lovely quote about solitude).
Thank you my friend : )
She has a gorgeous photostream, please visit her & say hello while you're there : )
I may be off for the next day or so... but will be back to catch up with everyone soon as I can!
Thanks for taking a moment to have a look, appreciate your support so much guys : )
Hope you find something enjoyable or interesting here : )
Have a wonderful new day my friends!

This little chap was being harassed by a Magpie, he did stay a while after the magpie got bored, and cleared off.
