I took this photo during my morning walk.
It was shot with the PENTAX Optio S55, a model released back in 2005—over 20 years ago! Time flies.
I wonder what this decoration is for?
It’s not for a sports day or a festival.
It’s always hanging above the local shopping street. Perhaps it’s meant to create a lively, festive atmosphere all year round?
Excalibur Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
Excalibur Hotel and Casino is a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, in the United States. It is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International.
Excalibur, named for the mythical sword of King Arthur, uses the Medieval theme in several ways. Its facade is a stylized image of a castle. Until 2007, a wizard-like figure representing Merlin looked out from a high turret (since replaced by a figure advertising Dick's Last Resort).

I decided to look at my digital archives, to recover and reprocess some old straight-out-of the point and shoot camera jpgs.
I'll post one picture every thursday, with the motto "Great places, bad cameras"

The dissident, the dissenter is a different bird. This one was enjoying its range of staring sounds. While the pigeons huddled together muttering to themselves, it just didn't care.

Hello friends!
Looks like I'll be away for a while so I wanted to quickly share a recent photo with you.
This is an early morning sunrise photo I captured last Monday.
It's the top of a big rock rising from the water and being mirrored by the light of the sunrise : )
From afar, it reminded me of a comet with a fiery glow trailing behind it!
Or even a prehistoric creature arching from the ocean below ; )
((a dinosaur... Diplodocus, Brontosaurus!))
This is simply SOOC (straght out of camera), no adjustments made.
Something about this rock rising & reflecting from the calm water really caught my eye, but I can't explain exactly why.
Like my last photo, this wasn't one I originally intended to share here, but I'm learning that sometimes others enjoy these types of works too.
As I mentioned, I'll be away for a while and wanted to post something before leaving.
I have a few more pics from this shoot which I would also like to share with you after I return : )
I hope you guys find something enjoyable or interesting here : )
Appreciate your support (so very much)... and see you all again soon!
CRUSH
The cotton candy skies this time of year are such a highlight of early spring. (Pun intended?) I was leaving work the other day and knew there was a good chance the sky would be great at this intersection. So I kept my little camera ready and grabbed the photo at the intersection.
As an aside, I've never had much of a connection to Canon cameras. For whatever reason they've just never grabbed me. That is, except for their PowerShot cameras from the earlier digital days. I'll almost go so far as to say Canon may have done point and shoots better than anyone, then.
In particular, the S50, 70, 90 etc and the G series cameras are excellent. They have RAW capability, fun designs, and good optics. I especially like the earlier S models and their clamshell designs. Also, no proprietary storage media 😬. What're your favorite older digital compact cameras?

Captured today on the panoramic terrace of the Esztergom Basilica.
The large semi‑circular window casts a striking geometric shadow across the floor, turning the space into a play of light, rhythm and structure. Visitors resting by the glass appear as quiet silhouettes against the bright view of the Danube and the Mária Valéria Bridge.
A moment of stillness and contemplation in one of Hungary’s most iconic architectural settings.
