The epic 7th annual Community Bocce Tournament presented by Piedmont Health and organized by the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commercensaw Chris Derby, Baguettaboutit partner, and Jon Reda, manager of The UPS Store in Meadowmont, top 50 teams to become the 2013 champions and grab the coveted bocce trophy on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at The Farm at UNC-Chapel.
The Community Bocce Tournament is presented by Piedmont Health and sponsored by Top of the Hill, Kinetix, Dickey's Barbecue Pit, Baguettaboutit, Blackstar Strategies, The Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel, The Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA, Hampton Inn and Suites, A Better Image Printing, Coastal Federal Credit Union, Pat Phelan - Edward Jones, DSI Comedy, State Farm - Pam Herndon, Terra Nova Global Properties, Luna Pops, Bradford Ink, American Party Rentals, Beer Study, Aaron and Sonja Nelson, The Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership and The Farm.

On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, City staff from Greenville Fire/Rescue, Neighborhood & Business Services, and the City Manager's Office performed a little last-minute holiday shopping for Pitt County Operation Santa Claus.
For the past 35 years, Pitt County Operation Santa Claus has brightened Christmas for underprivileged children in Pitt County.
Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community received a courtesy call by H.E. Hou Yanqi, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to ASEAN at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat today. They exchanged views on strengthening ASEAN-China socio-cultural cooperation, including activities under the ASEAN-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges and future areas of collaborations.

Grant HS Championship Parade
This is how they told the story “Unranked Sacramento squad knocks national power early and late with victory in a California State Open Division Bowl Classic” Grant HS came to play football and took home a championship. The community held a parade to celebrate the team and this victory.
We said farewell to our amazing Miss Covina 2012, Sarah Gleason and crowned new royalty, Miss Covina Ashley Dennis, and Miss Covina Valley, Rita Garabet! Great young women filled with a heart to serve their community!
Going fishing by a coracle (round-boat) is a popular job in Phu Hai fishing village. A fishing trip often starts at midnight and returns in early morning. Sure, this is a job for man only!
Uncle Chin (man wears a hat in first line) returned with a haul of crabs. Friends help to bring his coracle to ashore. Fishermen’s lives entertain an attachment to the sea. They live communally and work with the sense of community.
