UTRGV finished HESTEC with Community Day - where families from the Valley were invited to come to the Edinburg Campus and experience games, food, music, and the UTRGV STEM experience.

Community Day was the culmination of BAMPFA's Grand Opening Week. The museum doors were thrown open for twelve hours to mark this historic occasion. Visitors got a first look at our inaugural exhibition, Architecture of Life. The day included DJs spinning records, dance performanes, a weaving workshop, and other impromptu happenings throughout the building, organized by artist David Wilson. Photo: Marisa Darabi
St. Luke's UM Church purchased items to make gift bags for every person who entered the Mission on June 17, 2015. Ivy Tech Nursing Students helped put the bags together and passed them out that day. Nurse Humdinger (clown) came and put a smile on everyone's face! Balloons were provided by A Bloom for all Seasons. Cakes were provided by Create A Cake and Kroger. Scoops donated two huge tubs of ice cream. Thank you to everyone who made this day special.
I had the privilage of fielding questions on the community enlightenment panel at SL5B today. I'd love to do more of this in the future because I really think that people are capable of so much in Second Life if only they had a better understanding of how things worked and had things explained in a way that made learning fun. Resident education rocks!

The 24-hour job action affected Richmond-based Developmental Disabilities Association (DDA) and Burnaby-based PosAbilities, the two largest community social service agencies in British Columbia, but also agencies in Prince George, Coquitlam, Surrey and Vancouver.
