Brescia per un intero week-end si fa città globale e vede le sue strade invase dai colori e dalla gioia dei numerosi esponenti dell'etnia Indiana.
Il Sikhismo si basa su tre principi:
- Ricordare il Creatore in ogni momento;
- Guadagnare lavorando onestamente;
- Condividere il guadagno.

Charitable donation by the EBRD Community Initiative
This year, the EBRD Community Initiative made a charitable contribution of EUR 50,000 to the Women Access to Entrepreneurship Development and Training Society (WAEDAT).
WAEDAT was founded in 2004 and launched under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania in 2005. The organisation provides mentoring and training for women and young entrepreneurs in Jordan, to raise their awareness of local development opportunities and provide basic skills to start their own businesses.
The EBRD Community Initiative donation will enable WAEDAT to support local women entrepreneurs in strengthening and expanding their business activities.
There was an exhibition of the local goods and crafts, produced by the members of WAEDAT in the conference centre.

In 1901 Vancouver requested $50,000 from industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie for the purpose of building a library. Carnegie agreed, provided the City of Vancouver supplied the site and contributed $5000 a year.
The original public library was completed in 1903. For decades, the top floor was the home of the Vancouver Museum. The Vancouver Public Library moved into a more spacious building in 1957 and the Carnegie building eventually fell into disrepair.
Poverty activists convinced city council to turn it into a public space for local residents, and it opened as the Carnegie Community Centre in the 1980s. It now houses recreation facilities, a cafeteria, a branch of the Vancouver Public Library, and a variety of services and programs for the neighbourhood, which is one of the poorest in Canada. The Carnegie Centre is a drug and alcohol-free area.

So I ended up not using the photos on my contact sheet because when I tried editing them, they didn't turn out looking much different/better than the original. The things I noticed about my community is that there is a calming vibe about it. It is very gloomy, yet at the same time very soothing. I chose these two (new) images because I liked the way how I edited them to change the vibe that they were portraying. For my first photo, I changed the tone a little bit to a much more warm/ autumn tone. For the second photo, I thought that the original looked very bland, as if there wasn't enough contrast. The ethical choices I had to make was to make sure that I don't edit the photo too much to remove from the original ethics of the photo.

Community Boating, the nation's oldest and largest community sailing center, in the Storrow Lagoon on the Charles River. The Longfellow Bridge (aka the "Salt and Pepper-Shaker Bridge") is in the background.
Basingstoke Community Transport Mercedes Benz minibus KF52 ZGY provides a service in Whitchurch on 23rd October, 2019. It has a conversion by Courtside with a rather prominent door.
Manchester Community Transport YX19ONR reverses onto the layover stands at Stockport bus station having arrived as service 392 from Macclesfield. The destination has already been reset for the return journey.
This service is supported by Cheshire East council.
We stopped to visit this village not far from the Tad Lo waterfalls. My local guide told me that this was the Lae minority and identified the village as Khien Khong, neither of which I have been able to find any confirmation of. I believe these were either Laven or Nge / Nge-Trieng ethnic groups and indeed the community house / spirit house is in a picture on a webseite identifying the location as an anonymous Nge village here: asianitinerary.com/bolaven-plateau-discovery-tour/
I got to take a trip for Mendon over the weekend. I ended up getting caught in the beginning of a blizzard on the way back from St. Joseph. Fun times.
Carnival in the south of the Netherlands (Catholic area) In the north of the country, above the river, carnival is not celebrated (Protestant area)
Crossroads LLC and Douglaston Development, a luxury developer known for building the "The Edge" condo complex in Williamsburg, wants to build a huge new complex on top of the land where Morning Glory Community Garden stood just a few months ago. The project stands to drive up rents across the South Bronx, and displace poor community members who have been fighting to improve their neighborhoods since capitalists and politicians abandoned them in the mid 1970s. Bronx Community Board 1 hosted a ULURP public hearing on Thursday February 23rd. The Morning Glory Community Garden Crew were out in force to make a spectacle of this sham process, as a soon-to-be billion dollar developer (Douglaston) gets more than $100 million in goodies in exchange for some marginally "affordable" apartments over the next 30 years (all requirements expire at the end of the term, then it's a market rate free for all.)
