Saturday 23 April 2022, saw the emergency services joined by charity groups to host a community engagement event in Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens.
Greater Manchester Police joined by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, North West Ambulance Service, LGBT Foundation and the Children’s Society.
You should call 101, the national non-emergency number, to report crime and other concerns that do not require an emergency response.
Always call 999 in an emergency, such as when a crime is in progress, violence is being used or threatened or where there is danger to life.
You can also call anonymously with information about crime to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Crimestoppers is an independent charity who will not want your name, just your information. Your call will not be traced or recorded and you do not have to go to court or give a statement.

In 1901 Vancouver requested $50,000 from industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie for the purpose of building a library. Carnegie agreed, provided the City of Vancouver supplied the site and contributed $5000 a year.
The original public library was completed in 1903. For decades, the top floor was the home of the Vancouver Museum. The Vancouver Public Library moved into a more spacious building in 1957 and the Carnegie building eventually fell into disrepair.
Poverty activists convinced city council to turn it into a public space for local residents, and it opened as the Carnegie Community Centre in the 1980s. It now houses recreation facilities, a cafeteria, a branch of the Vancouver Public Library, and a variety of services and programs for the neighbourhood, which is one of the poorest in Canada. The Carnegie Centre is a drug and alcohol-free area.

Charitable donation by the EBRD Community Initiative
This year, the EBRD Community Initiative made a charitable contribution of EUR 50,000 to the Women Access to Entrepreneurship Development and Training Society (WAEDAT).
WAEDAT was founded in 2004 and launched under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania in 2005. The organisation provides mentoring and training for women and young entrepreneurs in Jordan, to raise their awareness of local development opportunities and provide basic skills to start their own businesses.
The EBRD Community Initiative donation will enable WAEDAT to support local women entrepreneurs in strengthening and expanding their business activities.
There was an exhibition of the local goods and crafts, produced by the members of WAEDAT in the conference centre.

So I ended up not using the photos on my contact sheet because when I tried editing them, they didn't turn out looking much different/better than the original. The things I noticed about my community is that there is a calming vibe about it. It is very gloomy, yet at the same time very soothing. I chose these two (new) images because I liked the way how I edited them to change the vibe that they were portraying. For my first photo, I changed the tone a little bit to a much more warm/ autumn tone. For the second photo, I thought that the original looked very bland, as if there wasn't enough contrast. The ethical choices I had to make was to make sure that I don't edit the photo too much to remove from the original ethics of the photo.
Parts of the interior of Oman are very hilly, the highest peak is around 2000 metres. Many communities have traditionally lived in this hilly terrain and recently the traditional villages have been abandoned and people have resettled into modern houses with all facilities. This is a typical view of the countryside and the villages.
