So I ended up not using the photos on my contact sheet because when I tried editing them, they didn't turn out looking much different/better than the original. The things I noticed about my community is that there is a calming vibe about it. It is very gloomy, yet at the same time very soothing. I chose these two (new) images because I liked the way how I edited them to change the vibe that they were portraying. For my first photo, I changed the tone a little bit to a much more warm/ autumn tone. For the second photo, I thought that the original looked very bland, as if there wasn't enough contrast. The ethical choices I had to make was to make sure that I don't edit the photo too much to remove from the original ethics of the photo.

I'm a big fan of Community, so when I was animating a scene with people at a bank, I couldn't resist giving Dean Pelton a cameo wearing his best outfit ever.

They operate quite a network of routes in East Sussex. On Sundays they operate service 25 between Lewes and Alfriston. Uniquely it goes past Glyndebourne Opera House but is seen here in the attractive village of Firle. The bus is approaching the Post Office, where it reverses on the 'out and back' working.

Different organisations had each a riverside tree to decorate with different handicraft creations. This type of art is also linked to graffiti, as the event is called Knit 'n' Tag. These are quite popular in all the Nordic countries. We even had one in a small scale at school two years ago, with teachers and students alike knitting pieces during the breaks.

We had our first neighborhood review meeting last night about the changes that we like to bring to our house. San Francisco is one of the most regulated places in the country and especially in the neighborhood we are living in there is a special review board on top of any city approvals that you need to get.

Overall the meeting was fantastic and we were pleasantly surprised how much our neighbors and other people in the community liked and embraced our plans, which we designed with Craig and Adam in a way where they fit to the neighborhood, but where the house also is going to be one of the most progressive modern houses in the area.

Thanks neighbors!

Village Badammage toli, Block Namkum, District Ranchi. Jharkhand, India..Teenage girls alongwith women attends discussion on safe delivery, breastfeeding, immunisation, and other essential care practices during pregnancy and early childhood with Anganwadi worker (AWW) at Anganwadi Kendra in Ranchi. Anganwadi worker in every targeted village teams up with a small group of local resource people who are then given a basic training in nutrition, childcare and hygiene. Once trained, the team visits pregnant women and mothers of newborns in their homes to educate them about safe delivery, breastfeeding, immunisation, and other essential care practices during pregnancy and early childhood UNICEF is prioritizing reducing the high malnutrition and child mortality rates, and reaching out to millions of families in Jharkhand to address these concerns. The Dular strategy, which trains village women to counsel new mothers about breastfeeding and proper nutrition, is a successful approach that is already expected to prevent about one quarter of newborn deaths and save the lives of thousands of older babies and children. The Dular initiative is of particular importance to tribal children who are most vulnerable to disease, malnutrition and education disparities, as prejudice, isolation and misunderstanding make it difficult for these families to access services. Beti Utsav is a community celebration which takes place every three months in several areas in New Delhi. It is a festive gathering of community members who come together to celebrate the birth of girls in their neighbourhood.

In India boys are valued far higher than girls, so much so that many women face pressure to have an illegal sex determination test, and if they are having a girl, also face pressure to abort the foetus. The latest census showed that there were only 914 girls to every 1,000 boys across India.

On a Beti Utsav celebration, ActionAid’s partner Action India, goes into the community to sing songs, give out sweets and visit the homes of families of girls who are less than three months old. Ladoos (an Indian sweet) are usually distributed when a boy is born in the family, so these are given out on Beti Utsav celebrations too, and tin plates (thali) are drummed to make noise.
