Since I am not Catholic, I had to research first communion cakes. My customer sent me a picture and asked me to recreate the cake she found.

I was asked to do a Holy Communion cake and the only request was that it was a cross. I got inspiration from my Flickr friends, combining a few ideas and sticking to the silver and blue theme.

Icing a cross was the most fiddliest part of this cake, but the customer was really pleased so it wasn't all bad!
