tho' she is ageless in Spirit ~ today is our luluheart's sweet 16th birthday :*)
(when i turned 16 and mom asked me what i would like as a birthday gift, i said "sweet peas.. please "
so when a friend serendipitously called yesterday to say the flower market has sweet peas! even though they don't grow here in hawai'i! knew i'd be off later today to buy some in celebration of lulita and her 16th birthday :)

baby spirit birdita (11 days old today! :) is doing well ~ was just fed :)
right now it is nestled underneath mama, keeping warm as morning's light comes *
the parents are leaving their fairy chick for as much as 5 hours at a time now(!) .. though thanks be they are always with the little one through the night
its so brave about being alone way up high on the narrow branch! .. (much more than i am about it ;)
spirit baby is resilient .. and sooo precious *
