The 0655 Bristol East Depot to St Austell via the Fowey branch is seen passing a local welcoming committee on the sea wall at Teignmouth. The wall was shrouded in some light sea mist so the promised sun hadn't materialised yet.
The two LSL 37s were immaculately turned out as was the stock.

Went for a brief outing this past weekend to the arboretum near us for a change of scenery.
One of the first things I spotted in the brush as we approached the footbridge was this little green Anole lizard. Clearly he spotted us, too.
BUT, as I paused to get some shots from different angles, this little green Anole turned into an angry little brown Anole and flashed that dewlap at me - Move Along Human! So I did.
*** Upon closer inspection I do see hints of brown on the head, legs and tail but all I saw when I was there was green.

This lovely line-up greeted us when we stopped for a walk thru the wild tussock and rock piles.

One from Padley but earlier in the year during similar conditions to Friday last week.
It looks as though nature is convening over important matters around the central moss covered stone.
This took second place for my 365 shot for the day and I think I prefer this over the one I picked on the day.
I planted these four daffodil sisters this past autumn and today they were all blooming! Here's what's so neat! As you drive into the yard, they stand as a welcoming committee on the left side of the driveway.

. . . We visited the Audubon Bird Center in Winter Park on the north side of Orlando today and this little Eastern Screech Owl named Sanford welcomed us! He came out to greet us personally, as we were the only visitors at that time! This is a fully grown adult, and he prefers to sit on a white Callaway golf glove!

A glimpse inside the new outstation premises at Luddenden Foot. This is where most of the active heritage fleet will be based. The surroundings are more conducive to showing prospective customers around.
A typical Cotswold scene near Ebrington, some of the sheep were giving us such a hard stare!

Backstory: When Keith originally planned to create Apple Valley (as an attraction featuring amusement park relics and an indoor toy museum), his neighbors didn't like the idea. They tried very hard to get him shut down and lose his property. After the battle and when the plans fell through, he turned his property into a hillbilly-esque roadside attraction. It features lots of 'junk-art' made of discarded objects that he finds.
With that being said, Keith told me that this guy was designed to "greet" his neighbors as they drive by.

I love seeing them in the window, waiting for me to come home and let them out into the cat enclosure. Yes, it has been warm enough to open up the cat enclosure and they go out into it every day. They generally don't stay out long, but they do enjoy the fresh air. Today it is -1C, pretty warm out.
For those of you who missed the Poinciana Trees, you’ll be glad to know we have a whole kilometer of them ahead!

3 March 2012 -- Thousands of people marched to the offices of the Hong Kong city government on Saturday, demanding that outgoing chief executive Donald Tsang stand trial following allegations of ethics violations in his dealings with businessmen.
Organizers said more than 5,000 participated in Saturday's march, but local police estimated about 2,800 turned up at Victoria Park, the site of Hong Kong's annual Tiananmen vigil and where the protest started.
Hong Kong returned to Chinese rule in 1997 amid promises of a high degree of autonomy. But China's leaders have kept grip over political and administrative elite from behind the scenes.
The city's seven million people can elect some legislative and district council members, but have no direct vote for their top leader, who is selected by a 1,200-strong election committee comprised largely of business leaders and Beijing loyalists.
