The inspiration behind this project came by being part of an activist group on my college campus (University at Buffalo), called the Men's Group. The group is made up of feminist-oriented males whose intentions are to educate fellow peers, challenge traditional societal norms which box in people, as well as train individuals in what they can do to help a survivor of sexual assault. We understand that men are a part of the problem, as 99 percent of perpetrators are male. We also understand that men are part of the solution. Sexual Violence is not just a woman's issue. This is where we come in.
For this project, members of the UB community were asked to sum up in a sentence or less on an index card what feminism means to them to present in a photo. These are just a few examples. Participants in these photos ranged from 18-71.

These pictures were actually taken yesterday, but all the editing was done today, which took much longer to do.
Also, this image is muchhhh worse than the original. Still fighting with that monthly limit until I get my pro account. So I uploaded to tinypic and saved from there, hence the bad quality.
Anyways, I LOVE this soo much. Especially the composition of my feet in each frame (which was completely on accident)
A friend sent me this during an IM exchange a few days ago. I burst into tears over it, and did a screen shot so I could read it whenever I'm feeling like the scardy cat I really am.

I went for a weekend visiting Gemma in Derby.
Sunday morning we headed back to Cherry Treet Farm because they have all you can eat breakfast on for only £7.49! A bargain!
Afterwards we stopped off to have a quick look at the extremely deep Stenson Lock. Impressive engineering!

We decided to do Newcastle for Easter weekend, and what a fantastic weekend we had!
Friday our lovely friend Jane Christine took us to a wonderful Chinese restaurant for amazing food (far too much! I had to bring loads back to the hotel with me!).
Afterwards we went to The Yard which was quite full and had a great drag act on. The on to our favourite bar, Rusty's.
As it turns out another couple of friends were also staying in the hotel for Easter. Marie and Julie came and met us in Rusty's along withe another friend Fiona. And as always, we made new friends that evening. What a great, sociable evening!
