I find cars with many bumper stickers interesting and try to check out as many as I can. I'm usually behind them in traffic so there isn't much time. In any case, I've acquired enough photos now to start a new collection which I hope you'll enjoy.

Please note that I'm not encouraging comments about the content of the stickers. That could quickly get into nasty arguments and I don't need that aggravation. We live in a country where people can put this stuff on the back of their cars. Let's simply revel in that.

Finally, I've loaded larger-than-usual versions of the pictures so that you can give these works of art the detailed inspection that they deserve.

Comments always appreciated, as long as you keep it clean - I love to hear your feedback! xx

Gemma was in Hull for Christmas as we always do. So I had to grit my teeth and accept that Christmas was happening.

Boxing Day was leftover Christmas dinner and then luxury iuce cream for dessert. Awesome!

(Sommers staff - suggest replacing the existing text submitted by Jim Haggart Aug 10, 2016 with this) Submitted by Jim Haggart and Dave Karthauser, June 17, 2017 Troop 68 of Arlington, Texas (Longhorn Council). Scoutmaster: Dave Karthauser Back row: Joe Miller, guide; Steve Smith, probably crew leader; John Pitstick; Dave Karthauser; Unknown Middle row: Kevin Grant; Robert Rau; Mike Hill; Unknown Front row: Jim Haggart (Dallas, TX); Ron Pricket; David Karthauser, son of Dave; Bill Loflin We traveled from Arlington to Ely on a bus with our sister crew, as well as some boys who were too young for the Sommers trip and who went on an independent trip with another outfitter. Our crew attempted to do the “Hunter’s Island” circuit, but had to head south once we got to Shelley Lake, at the northern tip of the circuit, as we were running out of time. When we were camped at Agnes Lake later in the trip, Dave got everyone up at 2 in the morning to look at the full moon. He then told everyone that there was plenty of light, so we might as well break camp and get going down Agnes Lake, as it was going to be a long day. There was lots of grumbling, but we did it nonetheless. Then, early in the morning we were paddling across a glassy Agnes with the fog sitting right on the water and the sun just above. In the early afternoon, we took a break for a couple of hours and then the wind came up, producing 3' waves. Dave reminded everyone that if we had slept in that morning until the normal time, we would have been battling the waves on Agnes that much longer!

Comment by Paul Sullivan

"Mmm, in 1906, the Fire gutted the inside, the roof and the original windows, but the walls are still the original 1854 structure.. The sign (replaced, of course, it's wood...) below the clock still has the same saying (before 1906, there was a brothel across California Street) "Son, observe the time and fly from evil..."

Old Saint Mary's Cathedral & Chinese Mission

A Missionary Community of Faith Served by the Paulist Fathers Since 1894

Old St. Mary's Cathedral: Old St. Mary's is one of the most prominent buildings in the Chinatown area. The cathedral was built by Chinese laborers in 1854 using brick that was shipped around Cape Horn and granite from China. Though the original was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake, the cathedral was rebuilt in 1909. 660 California St. www.sfgate.com/neighborhoods/sf/chinatown/

Cornerstone 1853

Dedicated 1854

The first building erected as a cathedral in California, Old St. Mary's served the archdiocese of San Francisco in that capacity from 1854 to 1891. Once the city's most prominent building, much of its stone work was quarried and cut in China and its brick brought "around the Horn" in sailing ships. California Registered Historical Landmark No.810. Plaque placed by the California State Park and Commission in cooperation with the Paulist Fathers and the Grand Parlor, Native Sons of the Golden West, May 7, 1966.

Old St. Mary's Church was established by Father Henry Ignatius Stark as a mission. The purpose was to teach the Chinese community about the Catholic faith. It was built by Chinese laborers in 1854 with brick brought around Cape Horn and granite cut in China. It was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake and rebuilt in 1909. Across from this Catholic landmark is St. Mary's Square, where a 12-foot statue of Sun Yat Sen, founder of the Chinese Republic (1911-1913), is located. www.sanfranciscochinatown.com/attractions/oldstmary.html

Day 29 - Camp Jabez Open House

This was taken with my 50mm f/1.8 II and set to B/W in Lightroom. :)

Melody (Light hair) and Sue (dark hair). :) The Open House for camp was today! It was amazing. Even though it was pretty cold (around 45 degrees...brrr...compared to the upper 50's and low 60's we've been used to!!) , everyone had a good time.

Sorry this isn't as sharp as it should be. Taking pictures of Sue is really, really, really hard...since she thinks she doesn't look good in them and will only stand still for a half second to let you take one. :) So I had to be really quick, and didn't have time to put the dot exactly where it was supposed to be. This is actually a pretty good picture of Sue. Love her!! I can't imagine life with you, Lovely. :) I love how when I look into her eyes in this I can just feel her warmth and love. :D
