PACIFIC OCEAN(Aug. 22, 2012) - A F/A-18 Super Hornet from the 'Diamondbacks' of Strike Fighter Squadron 102 approaches the flight deck of the U.S. Navy's forward deployed aircraft carrier USS George Washington for an arrested landing during carrier qualifications. The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier departed Fleet Activities Yokosuka on August 20 to continue its 2012 patrol. The U.S. Army Reserve held an Army Reserve Ambassador Tandem Jump Camp at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S. C., Sept. 7-9, 2017. The three-day event, led by the 81st Regional Support Command invited leaders in education, business and public service to experience a tandem jump with the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team as well as learning more about the role of the Army Reserve Ambassadors in their communities and the opportunities available in the Army Reserve.

Col. John DiGiambattista, commander, 1st Brigade Combat Team “Ironhorse,” 1st Cavalry Division, relinquished command of the brigade he led for 32 months on three continents, partnering with more than 20 nations in diverse training rotations and real-world missions Jan. 27, 2017.

 

DiGiambattista relinquished command to Col. Wilson Rutherford IV, during a change of command ceremony at Cooper Field. The two men had served together earlier in their careers as captains in the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division.

YAMADA, Japan (Mar. 18, 2011) - Chief Naval Air Crewman Francisco Garcia hands two boxes of meals ready-to-eat (MRE) to a Soldier in the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF). The crewman from Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM) 14 delivered 360 cases of water and eight pallets of MREs to the JGSDF in Yamada. The crew left USS Tortuga (LSD 46) early Friday morning to pick up supplies from Misawa Air Base and deliver to a drop point in Yamada. Maj. Michael Waterman takes command of the Virginia Beach-based 529th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group in a change of command ceremony June 15, 2013, at the Camp Pendleton Parade Field in Virginia Beach. Reckord Award from the National Guard Association.
