Broome, on the northern coast of Western Australia, is painted in shades of blue and orange. A beautiful area of Australia, the summer is literally breathtakingly hot -especially for southerners like me!
The photo shows all kinds of colours and proves the olive green colour of the oil that I use already for many many years: the oil from Felea Goods in Crete, Greece. I use it in the food, daily, and also as a skin care product, home made: a body oil, and handmade soap that even can be used as a shampoo bar.

These colours clash on many levels, and there is a mixture of textures!

Apparently the Vice-President mandates the use of these colours in public spaces - the Pueblos Blancos are now perhaps the Pueblos Arco-Iris?
The lines and colour of this leaf intrigued me to take this photo.
I lit the subject by placing the leaf onto a homemade lightbox and lighting through the leaf.

This was actually an attempt to do something straight and organized and planned....
Inspired by imagingermonkey, who does a giant project with 2,5 inch squares - when I cut a batch ofsquares for her in april, i wanted some for myself, too.... and started cutting again. Not really sure what for - but well, squares a good! Organized and all! Lots of little squares, all the same size!
Hey, I actually MEASURED them :-)! (If you don't know - I never measure anything.... )
And the bag was getting bigger, and so I dug them all out the other day and laid them out on the floor, and I realized how that did not work for me. Squares are good,yes, but oh, how it kind of bored me to think of them all just suared together.
So - long lines of squares, and long strips of colourful fabric. That made a lot more sense to my eye.
There will be a few more strips on the long side, so it will become a squarer piece - right now it is kind of long and narrow....
Very happy with the framing. There were branches just off the frame top right and left and I found a fairly nice spot after walking around in cirles for a while.

The Altiplano was the site of several Pre-Columbian cultures including the Tiawanaku and the Inca Empire. Spain conquered the region in the 16th century.
Major economic activities in the Altiplano include mining, llama and vicuña herding, and services in the cities. There is a fair amount of international tourism.

We did a 2000-km long car road loop in the southern part of Altiplano region, Argentina, starting in Córdoba, and going way up north across barren mountainous landscapes, scattered settlements, lonesome volcanoes and endless salt flats. Altiplano is a special part of the world, indeed, and definitely one of the most amazing landscapes on the Earth.
Here, we were driving from the lovely settlement of Belén to the remote village of Antofagasta de la Sierra, passing remote and eerie high altitude landscapes of the Argentinian Altiplano.
