Families, residents and visitors can now walk, hike, bike or jog safely along the new Pioneer cycling and pedestrian overpass in Surrey. The new structure crosses Highway 99 at Winter Crescent and is illuminated by multi-coloured lights at night. The overpass is a result of a partnership between the federal and provincial government and the City of Surrey.

A couple of photos from the "Luminaire" event at Chatsworth House, that saw the house and gardens lit up with coloured lighting and projections for a couple of autumnal nights.
Quite thankful I managed to get a few good photos - we could only manage the sunday evening, and the forecast was lousy, with rain and very high winds - luckily it held off while we were there!
The sculpture in the foreground is "Ivy" by MANOLO VALDÉS, part of the Sotherby's "Beyond Limits" exhibition at chatsworth, which finished this weekend but the artworks haven't yet been removed.
I have a small collection of post-war Disney Christmas lights sets, which I have to say are the most delightful Christmassy things you could wish to see. The mere sight of them (especially when they’re lit) immediately whisks me back-in-time to Christmas’s of long ago. The ‘Cinderella’ set pictured is from the early 1950s, and is particularly significant to me because my parents purchased an identical set, when they celebrated their first Christmas in their new home in 1954; the Walt Disney film having been released in 1951.
I did save the original set from the bin years ago, but by then it was very tatty with at least half of the shades broken. Over time, I’ve managed to get that set working again, and have even located some replacement shades. However, a few years ago, after a lot of searching, I eventually tracked down an original boxed set on eBay. They weren't exactly cheap, but the set is absolutely original and is in superb working order. This Christmas I gave them a little test run, and share this image with you.
We went to brighton on th eve of Pride to drop off our daughter at her uni house. We stayed and went to see Priscilla at the Big Screen on the Beach. Sadly we couldn't stay for Pride due to other commitments but we've promised ourselves that we will go next year!
Rushed around to make my train this morning - not only did I just make it, but it even got in early to Cannon Street. Unheard of! Very useful though, as I had a meeting this morning and wanted time to prepare for it first. It was an interesting meeting with some useful outcomes.
Had a busy afternoon, too, trying to get caught up a bit. Lots more still to do though. Caught my normal train home this evening (no South Bank excursions) - they have reduced it to 6 carriages as it no longer stops at London Bridge, and it's horrible! Totally packed and no spare seats. Boo.
Some people have gathered to talk about the performance in the lobby of Le Cercle Molière in Saint Boniface.
I hope my friend Jim doesn't mind that I made a capture similar to one he made last year, but I felt compelled to make this one as I was driving down Provencher Boulevard on my home from a friend's house.

I know this looks like it's been highlighted in photoshop......but it's straight from the camera......and no altering to colour......only did a slight crop....
