We stayed on this island for 3 days, so I had time to play.
Freehand from life. Prismacolour and Derwent Watercolour pencils on Daler Rowney white textured paper.
Drawing in pencil of the Armona beach. I take notes of the colors so i can paint it later. (see the drawing above)

I like this place. It reminds me of those location shoots they would have on childrens programmes in the 80's where there was some mystery story that lasted 5 half hour episodes even though everyone worked out what the mystery was after 10 seconds.

5 new tangles, all from the patternlist from www.lineweaving.com in one project. I used Dot Grid, Jalousie, Crackerpop, Apeary, Drupe (did that one before) and a very tine Onion Heart.

Thank you for taking the time to read this^^ it makes me very happy, yes yes. I did this as a profile picture for the projectplaylist account. the person and magic and wings are all done with copic (i really messed up on the wings and magic) and the background is done in prismacolor colourpencils. My scanner sux, it totally wrecked it, but wth. It is a boy...i kno, it looks like a girl it makes me smile alot ^^

This is a colour pencil piece from a birds of prey series I did. The Prarrie Falcon is a fascinating in that it is one of the rare few raptors that is a cooperative hunter. It often targets prarrie dogs and these rodents post sentries in their colonies to watch out for predators and warn the entire prarrie dog town if they spot approaching danger.
To improve their success, unrelated prarrie falcons will pair up to hunt the rodents. One bird will circle and fly just at the edge of the distance that will panick the prarrie dogs. All of the sentries begin focusing on this bird as it looms just on the edge of the zone from which they need to sound an alert. Meanwhile the other falcon will fly in low to the ground with either the rising or setting sun slightly above and behind them making it difficult for any of the prarrie dogs to see them coming.
Striking from behind the bird will score a kill and then the decoy bird will fly down and share in the feast. Among raptors only the Harris Hawk and the Prarrie falcon are known to engage in cooperative hunting.
The hamlet of Sunderland Point on the River Lune estuary is downstream from Lancaster. A little further up the estuary and on the opposite side is Glasson Dock which essentially took over from Sunderland Point & Lancaster as an active commercial and leisure dock. Properly the name of the attractive hamlet SP is 'Sunderland', Sunderland Point being a little futher along the estuary and looking out to Morecambe Bay.
Reached over a tidal causeway, it is an atmospheric spot, evocative of past times yet there are still active small fishing boats.
