This pair of kingfisher is a residence in my daughter garden. They are busy looking for food to feed their chicks. Been stalking them to practise BIF.

The Eurasian Collard Dove lives across most of the United States, except for the northeastern quarter. Michigan is not part of its range, although birders will spot a couple in the Great Lakes state every now and then.

The bird was introduced to the Bahamas in the 1970s. A few escaped to Florida, and since the 1980s has proliferated across much of the country.

I have many Mourning Doves sometimes more than a hundred in and around my yard. I always glance out at the flock to see if an outlier is present. Thus far, no dice.

I photographed this bird in Central Texas.

My daughter garden has many old tall trees and there are 2 pairs of Kingfisher living there: White Collard and White Throated Kingy.

The pair of White Collard is nesting and their nest is up in the tree. Been a week since I last saw them and plan to pay them a visit tomorrow. Love doing armchair birding at my daughter home. Sit on inclinable canvas chair and wait under a shaded tree. While watching the pair fly back and forth to their nest, the next thing I saw was a lizard in her mouth. She carried her meal for hours but finally ate it. The husband is a beautiful looking bird with great posture.

There are all sorts of winter visitors at her home: Eagles, Basa, Hawks, Hornbills, Pink Neck Pigeon, Starlings, Parrots etc. Lucky

her.

In my garden

for dinner. the whole household is just lighting up at the news.

The Eurasian collared dove is a dove species native to Europe and Asia; it was introduced to Japan, North America and islands in the Caribbean. Because of its vast global range and increasing population trend, it has been listed as Least Concern

Central Montana

This species range has significantly contracted and is now considered to be Vulnerable to Extinction. It's population has declined by 85% over the past few decades..

I was hoping to see some Large blues at Collard hill today, but it was just too hot for the bugs, a couple of meadow browns and small heath on the wing. I spent most of the time on my belly trying to shoot these colourful little cuckoo bees... And they cleared off into the hedge for cover after a couple of hours.
