Time for a look back to a better time in railroading, but the same type of crappy May weather.
Taken on May 10th, 1990, Soo 6619 and companion 6612 pass the Oconomowoc depot umbrella shed eastbound at reduced speed on account of numerous trees down along the right of way which ended up taking the ABS signal system down. Some crossing gates were affected as well. The culprit is a very late season snow storm - May 10th is a bit late to get 6" of snow......
This being my senior year of high school, classes were canceled due to the storm so what do you do when there's no school? Head trackside with a camera! Dodging downed trees and power lines, I made it to the depot and was able to capture the rather unusual event with some classic power.

30 years later, I just checked the thermometer and it's reading 38 degrees while the rain continues to fall. A few more ticks lower and we just might repeat this scene today. By far the coldest mothers day I ever recall.
Happy Mothers day to all - stay warm!

Playing around with ISO to lock aperture and shutter speed, trying to capture some flow on a cold, grey and colourless Turimetta morning with the FOCUS Group. (I even learned how to access Auto ISO without scrolling through menus on the LCD !)

Sun rising over a cell tower in ice fog. Air temperature was -37C and the wind chill was -44C. And no, I did not take this from outside.
Cold morning
It was a cold morning as the wind blew across the water. In the distance, clouds faded into the horizon. On the deck of the boat she stood, staring intently at the patterns the waves forming on the water. Infinite patterns for infinite possibilities.
Not the cleanest picture (high ISO noise is quite evident) but the blue hue on Arthur's coat, and the pinkish sky were very representative of how a cold morning in early Jan really feels like
cold perfume by united colors of benetton, before going to bed, i noticed that my nightlight gave the bottle a blue glow, so here it is. enjoy!
I braved 35 degrees temperature with windchill in the 20s to capture this sunrise at War Hill Park on Lake Lanier.

WEEK 3 – Oxford Walmart, Post-Remodel (II)
Where previously this department only received one sign – a catch-all simply titled “Beverages” – Black Décor 2.1's perimeter-hugging department signs allow for an additional department sign here now, this one placed on the left side of the alcove and titled “Cold Beer.” I wonder how many of my fellow Ole Miss students frequent this department :P
I did find it interesting here how the beer coolers themselves are inset into the wall, meaning they must be stocked from the same room as milk.

· The train is moving forward and closer
Can't stand up and walk away
Once I made my mind up so long ago
Now I can't change
It is just too bad
I feel so left alone, so forgotten
Nobody knows where I am, no one misses me
Cold water runs from my eyes
And the cold is freezing my last tears
Like I'm only half in my body, I can't feel
I think I'm already half gone, I can't think
It's getting colder and colder and colder
I can't breathe ·
