Title: East Meets West

In between east and west, she flies between formosa island and tulip kingdom and goes through numerous transformation of cognition which is a cycle of lost, contradiction, question, compromise, and approval. However, after a short span of calmness, the cycle begins all over again. She ripples between two different worlds and keeps struggling in order to find a stable comfort. But somehow she forgets to find her inner peace. Actually, the perfect point of balance is already around her like nature itself.

SSIR Technology, Cognition and Behavior

This is part of an experimental setup I made (well it was more of a game for the cats!). I connected two zip ties and made a little treat receptacle on one end. I used a light color (yellow) for the receptacle so the treats would contrast against it well, making them easier for the cats to see.

Come up to My Room 2012 event at the Gladstone Hotel.

Following a restoration project initiated by the Metropolitan Municipality of Istanbul, the once derelict post-industrial site of Çubuklu Silos has become a vibrant cultural center dedicated to digital arts. Ars Electronica and Piksel Creative Solutions present the museum’s inaugural exhibition RE COGNITION: WHAT IS REAL?. This collaboration merges Ars Electronica’s extensive exploration of technology’s societal impact through art with Piksel’s dedication to local media art initiatives, fostering community engagement. Nine international and local artistic positions – Atif Akin, ha:ar, Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg, nohlab, Quadrature, Shinseungback Kimyonghun, Theresa Reiwer, Universal Everything and Yatreda offer new perspectives on the notion of reality through the transformative lens of media art.

Hi,

REVEALING THE TRICKS & THE SLEIGHT OF MIND SET WORKSHOP

The real power of Mind Magic and Psychological Artistry lies not with just the tricks, but the effect that the delivery of these tricks have on people, tapping into the emotions of mystery combined with the personal touch.  On the workshops and in the packs we give you the tricks, however, learning to use them and turn them into effects is where the real power lies. See mindsways.com/SMS and mindsways.com/the-fascination for more information on doing this.

By delivering the effects that we go through on the workshops, you can evoke the making of the extraordinary. By combining the tricks with the energy of your words, your message and your personality, you make yourself stand out, stimulate fascination and create interest in you. This is when the real magic happens, in the minds of others.  We take you on a critical thinking journey that covers from Shamanism to Neuroscience.

To see a few interesting examples of how magic can be used in communication, please see mindsways.com/the-fascination# PsychologicalTED

TRANSFORMING HOW YOU THINK

On our programmes we offer insights into:

How we experience the world

How others see us

How we can influence others

How we can design and create meaningful experiences for others

How you can practically build your personal brand and your reputation

This is illustrated by using a blend of tricks, tools, techniques and ideas from Mind magic and Psychological Artistry. We cover issues and topics such as

The Innovation Gap

Schema Violation

Cognitive Fitness

Psychological Invisibility

Moments of Creativity

FEEDBACK FROM THE PROGRAMMES

The workshops have been enjoyed and shown to be beneficial to many people over the past year.  The events have been attended and proved to be relevant to people from a wide range of backgrounds including entrepreneurs, business consultants, health professionals, coaches of life, performance and sports, therapists, hypnotists, trainers etc.

This is an unorthodox approach to understanding human behaviour, illustrating and promoting our messages, but this is where the real power lies.  As Marty Neumeier says in ZAG

"Be Different - NO, Really Different"

Feedback comments we have had, such as:

"A truly inspiring experience is how I'd best describe the Sleight of Mind Set workshop."

"I came away with lots of ideas to create drama and interest in my training delivery."

"I got my money's worth after the first session"

"Can't wait for the next one"

"The whole group laughed many times and were absolutely fascinated by each technique."

"The tools here are certainly powerful"

"Nothing but praise. It was a light-hearted and informative day and I was able to go home and immediately try things. The following day I made use of my new information in a therapy session - to great effect."

"I was looking for something different this certainly met my expectation"

"You obviously have something very special happening here"

WHAT IS PSYCHOLOGICAL ARTISTRY?

To start with there are many definitions of psychology, but the one that sums it up for me is "the science of how we think".  Next is the Artistry part, again, there have been many definitions but I like to think that artistry is a blend of:

Creating connection, rapport and emotions

Telling stories

Gaining and holding attention

Producing insights

Displaying human nature

Cognition

Show, Not Tell

Multiple Moments of Interest, Interaction and Insights (MMI's)

Therefore, Psychological Artistry is the blending of these two to create a method for successful communication. Psychological Artistry is where science and art meet Mind Magic.

Interesting examples of how all is not as it appears are the McGurk effect and Prof. Richard Wiseman's "The Incredible Colour Changing Card Effect", a well-known Fred Astaire clip and Rory Sutherland's Perspective Is Everything talk. Please take a look here or go to  mindsways.com/SMS. These illustrate both the power and the approach of Psychological Artistry.  I would love to know what you think.
