Cover the sugar with the cream - a handy addition to any tea tray.

I found this coffee beaker in the gutter, I love the design of this coffee brand, and I also loved this gutter with the leaves and moss...

As I have posted before, the reason why I spent the money on the x100 compact was to have a small portable camera that I can always have with me. Saturday afternoon/evening, my wife and I were invited to a wine-tasting at someone’s home, and although I don’t drink I went along with my camera.

I didn’t find the wine-tasting itself all that inspiring (probably *because* I wasn’t imbibing), but as I wandered around the host’s home I did see a scene that seemed photogenic. They had one entire wall of their kitchen dedicated to what must be someone’s coffee-mug collection. The late afternoon light through a side window made the whole thing very soft and pleasant, so I had to capture it.

I find that although it is often hard to be inspired to take pictures around your own home because everything is so familiar, it is much easier to find interesting subjects in someone else’s home.

a fun little memento of Our trip to Panama City Beach FL

Four mugs meeting in the middle through their steel handles. Loved the comments earlier in the week when I didn't mean to get an abstract and ended up with an abstract - thanks to Janet, for pointing that out to me and for her continued constructive criticism on my abstract attempts - love that kind of criticism. Well, this time, I tried to make an abstract; but alas!! ;-)

I chose cups and or mugs for this week's theme.

I just recently finished the third of William Gibson's "Bigend" trilogy, Zero History. The trilogy contains an underlying theme contemplating brands, including a "brand hypersensitive" character who reacts to them as if they were allergens, right down to removing even the smallest logos from her clothing. When I looked down at my desk at the office today, I was struck by just how many brands are right there, staring back at me: the Apple logo on the 27" iMac that serves as my main development machine, the HP logo on the keyboard I use, the Microsoft logo on my mouse of choice, the L.L. Bean on my coffee mug, even the LEGO logo on the little commemorative brick I was handed at one of their store openings that I keep perched in front of me. And that's just the logos in this corner of the desk, which is arranged pretty much as it is normally.

Probably would have driven Gibson's character nuts.

I just shot this in the typical light of my office (intentionally blowing out the screen, so as not to violate any NDAs), using another part of my desk to brace the camera for the length of the exposure (wanted to go with a narrow enough aperture to keep the logos mostly in focus). Post work was just to tighten the cropping a hair, boost vibrance, and throw in a little vignette.

I think I might be more enamored of the concept than the end result. I'm happy with it technically, and I didn't really get anything else today that I'm happy with, although I did get a few more ideas to file away for future things. I'm really curious to know what others think of this one.

My friend, Erin's, mom got me this mug as a birthday gift. Some people just know me well.

Personally, I'd say it runs on Starbucks but I digress

Great gift for the snowman lover! These coffee cups or mugs have two hand painted snowmen on each mug and trees all around. A red cardinal is perched on top of one tree. He is wearing a blue scarf and matching hat. Treat yourself to these cute pedestal cups for serving yourself coffee or tea. Snowmen also like hot chocolate! Wonderful gift basket idea for the coffee or tea lovers.

Who put that damned ball in the sugar bowl??!! Yes, I'm now getting silly ..... it might be something to do with having a look at the Beta test that Flickr are playing (yes, they must be playing) around with!! Now, where will it (the golf ball) be tomorrow?!

The technique used for today's theme was trying to focus on the golf ball through the two glass mugs!

Cool new coffee mug where you have to check a checkbox with chalk.

There also is a sudoku one, a tea one and more!

Some people read tea leaves. I try to figure out the meaning of cream trails in coffee. Today's reading seems to be a map of the ancient continent of Rodinia - or is it Pangea? Maybe I just have too much time on my hands.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and this bowl will guarantee you look forward to it!
