... of spring/summer!

Sadly, my camera collected a lot of dust last year, and the few images I took are still mostly unprocessed. I took this photo in July, and it wasn't what I was intending, as typically the very interesting bee that I was trying to photograph flew out of the harebell and off into the distance. I liked the dreamy feel of the image though and, for me, it sums up happy days trying to photograph bugs that usually don't cooperate.

may 9, yesterday morning. according to the forecast i set my alarm to find some morning sky color, but the clouds did not exactly cooperate, so i went looking for some water movement to play with instead, finished soaked to the thighs. have a nice day everyone.

Such an amazing view even though every single time I am here, it is pouring rain. One day I am going to catch the peak wildflower season on a beautiful sunny day. I love this place and I'll keep going until I get it right. Mother Nature will surely cooperate someday, right?!?!

American Basin - Colorado

The idea was to show the Waikato shrouded in a fog blanket etc etc. Well, the fog didn't cooperate all that well and I think I wasn't high up enough. Anyway, altough I didn't get what I was after, I thought I came away with a reasonable kind of view. Hence I thought I share this with you. Waikato river in the foreground with Taupiri township just above. The mountain on the left is Taupiri Maunga with Taupiri Urupa at the base.

George Clooney cooperates with my camera.

I asked him to pose for Flickr friends and so he did :-)

I saw this butterfly at the conservatory at Brookside Gardens and it did not cooperate by visiting some flowers. Instead it just wanted to sit on the leaves by the wall. Well, I shot it but the photo languished until I took a look at it in Lightroom years later. I am now just amazed by how beautiful this thing is. I can see the name Emerald is quite justified by those amazing green scales on this beauty which shine like tiny emeralds!

This wild-looking bird is the Gray-crested Cacholote, a relatively common bird in the Pantanal. We seemed to find them anywhere we went that had trees though they didn’t always cooperate for photography. We tried to photograph quite a few before we came across this beauty. I think he was looking for a modeling job.

I ventured into the dark desert in search of the Neowise Comet. I was determined this pre-dawn morning! But the weather didn't cooperate. Clouds in the sky. :(

It was all fun and games watching this lightning show but getting my camera to cooperate was a different story. We were speaking different languages and I missed way more than I captured. When the rain started, my husband told me we better move. A few minutes later we were in 70-80 mph winds. Mother Nature sure was a fun hater this night.

I would rather be taking pictures of this Cardinal in the snow but the weather here is not cooperating. I was pleased however when it landed at the base of a tree that had some nice greenery around it.

So many people have asked me just how I manage to get my cats to cooperate for my holiday photos.

The secret is to wait until it looks like your subject is relaxed and in an agreeable mood. Then you gingerly approach with the hat and gently place on top of head.

It takes a LOT of patience, and many attempts, but, if your lucky one or two shots will turn out before they knock the hat off their heads

.Putting your camera on rapid fire also helps!

Izzy is a little hard to capture. She is getting old and a little hard of hearing. She has always been skittish about my camera. Today she cooperated and I was able to capture her. I must be on her good side today.

This was one of a flock of five of these birds seen on my fourth outing to Highwood Pass this fall. I'm glad I was able to track them down, and was incredibly lucky to get them to cooperate with both myself, the intervening terrain, and the light.

This was shot with the Sigma 150-500mm 5.0-6.3 DG APO HSM lens on a Pentax K-3 II body. Cropped and adjusted slightly as well.

Thanks so much for all the faves and views. This is my first image to be featured on Explore, and I am blown away by all the comments, faves, and attention it has brought my way!

Richard Underhill may have planned to be in Japan or South America with his Shuffle Demons this year. Instead he plays every week in local park with some of his equally talented friends to make our Covid lives more bearable. The weather still cooperated at the end of November, but it may come to the end now. The trombone player is Tom Walsh, whom I have seen first time playing.

Usually he smiles big for the camera, but on this particular day he did not want to cooperate. Sometimes that works just as well! Have a great weekend!

This is a set of three. Muse would not stop grooming, but the light was beautiful and Guru was cooperating.

Tofu is generally a very cooperative cat but his willingness to cooperate ends as soon as I need to get hold of him for whatever reason and he knows it. In such moments he tends to disappear deep in the greenery of the garden which forces me to crawl under shrubs and through the mud to reach him while Tofu just sits there and watches me. As soon as I'm close enough to catch him Tofu will (of course) dart past me and find another hideout. That kind of "game" can go on for quite a while, it's very funny for Tofu and rather exasperating for me. :)

Posted for the happy Caturday theme "Exasperating".

I see lots of these right now but they have been very hard for me to photograph. They seem to move around very quickly and prefer to be down in the deep grass. This one cooperated.

I don't know if anyone else is tired of me posting Malard photos, but I sure am. October and early November are the toughest time to find subjects around here. I finally found this female Hooded Merganser this morning. The males wouldn't cooperate, but at least I got something different. More Mallards likely to come later this week.

From my lovely little excursion through Dexter last weekend. Haven't been very motivated to post much and my computer and camera are not cooperating with each other. Hope everyone's having a fabulous summer!

When the sun (well, the clouds) just don't cooperate at your sunrise shooting...

Echo would much rather I had a frisbee in my hand than a camera, but she cooperated here - if only for a second - before dashing back down to the garden to ward off any chipmunk invaders

A local fox den had a good year - at least 6 kits. So much fun watching them (when they actually cooperated and came out of the den).

The setting was full of bushes, weeds, vines, dead branches, etc. In other words, not easy to get a clean shot on them without too many distractions. In this case there was a little path through the thicket and I was lucky enough to catch this kit looking back at me with what appears to be some curiosity.

Sweet little birds. Love it when they cooperate and stay still long enough for a few shots.

I thought these were cute little flowers. I have no clue what they are, I'm not a flower person...but lately, I have loved photographing them!

Not sure about the crop and the processing for this one. I waited and waited to get one person in each sub-frame but subjects were not cooperating (they were either showing up alone or in crowds). Gave up and went for a single person. I may re-do this after it sits on the drive for a bit.

Finally, the beautiful dark morph female tiger decided to cooperate for an open winged shot. Well if you can call it cooperation. She was in an area where I could see her instead of being too high to photograph. She has shades of brown and brownish gold on her upper wings along with some of those orange dots. The lower wings are shades of black with some beautiful blues slashed throughout and she does have those orange eye spots on each of the lower wings.

Today is an amazing day for butterflies in the garden. I may have to take the camera out after while but for now, I am trying to focus on some inside chores. That means blinds down so there is less temptation to ignore the necessities and go outside to play. I can be such a kid at heart sometimes :) Today I have decided to set an hourly alarm. I will tend to my real duties for a solid hour with the blinds down. Then I will take a short break for fun stuff like flickr and going outside to play. To be fair, I will set a 20 minute alarm for breaks so I will remember I am going to get some things done today.

A struggling MRVEP emerges from tunnel 5 spewing exhaust as the lead unit wouldn’t go pass Run 6 and its rear DPU also wasn’t cooperating and ultimately stalled at Cliff less than 5 minutes later.

A progression of shots starting with the full "Super Moon" and ending with a fully eclipsed "Blood Moon". I wanted to get a few context shots with the moon above the water, but the weather didn't cooperate.

Sure has been awhile since I have been able to get some decent photos of the Eagles at the Ravines. Between my new job ad pickleball my photography availability has really declined. I wil try again on Sunday morning and hopefully the weather, light and eagles cooperate.

Domaine Maizerets. Les jaseurs étaient abondants et particulièrement sympathiques cette journée là.

The waxwings were abundant and cooperated very well on that day.

Roe deer in the mist on a peaceful morning. When you have these conditions and wildlife that cooperate, doing wildlife photography is very easy.

For a very brief moment there was lull in the crowd at Ooh Aah Point so I managed to get a shot of us. Normally Wilbur won't cooperate with this type of shot!

Archives 2014 Tough to get close to this small duck species here in NJ.... I keep revisiting this series of images all from the same morning. Isn't it great when you have both good light and cooperating birds!!!

A little photo archiving from "Up North" this morning, obviously missing my beloved paradise! The weather didn't always cooperate while traveling along the North Shore, but that's the challenge . . . right?

There was very little snow, some ice on the river and it was quite peaceful on this morning. The weather was cool, cloudy and breezy. Yeah, I love it! :)

Finally a clear morning, so I got out at sunrise today! Unfortunately the wind wasn't cooperating for flight shots, and it was high tide. In any case, It was great to get out!

Well, here's a bit of spooky fun. I was worried that the sky wasn't going to cooperate with me. In the early morning, it was clear. And later in the day it was clouded over in some dramatically boring ways.

I wish I could spend the day here, and see how the light plays with it through the evening. Or even arrive earlier for the first slivers of dawn.

Well...., my computer STILL at his doctor.... Therefore I cooperate with my mobile’s photos only and not my NIKON’s.... But I must say , that I am not deceived... Via Google I have them in my iPad right now, and share them with you....

You cannot imagine HOW I had missed the sea, this year!! Its smells, sounds, colors, and views...So, I travelled for a very short while to the majestic sandy beach of the Belgian city of Ostende , with a friend of mine...And I share with you today some captures taken with my mobile camera, wanting to convey to you my enchantment of just BEING by the sea, that I love so much!!❤️❤️❤️

These guys are not cooperating at all. Perhaps new to the area, they don't want to come up the dry Thistle flowers. This one was taken through the weeds and cropped beyond my desire. Scopes for improvements, for sure.

Male and female. They wouldn't cooperate so I could get a picture of both in the same frame, so this is a composite.

I had been trying to get a giraffe at sunrise or sunset, but they weren’t cooperating. Where’s a giraffe wrangler when you need one? This was kind of a funky location, so I processed it in kind of a funky way. I like it now, but time will tell if I like it later. These are Maasai Giraffe’s. There several species or subspecies of giraffe. I saw these and Rothschild’s while in Kenya. Maasai orange spots have an irregular “leafy” pattern unlike Rothschild, which are more regular in shape. Railfans along the Lehigh Line celebrated Conrail's 47th birthday in style, as Norfolk Southern assigned the freshly repainted Reading Lines heritage unit to 22X. This was the first revenue run for 1067 since being repainted. Unfortunately the weather didn't quite cooperate, but the fresh yellow and green paint brightened the gloomy morning as the train hustled through New Market, NJ.

Not lost, exactly, but I was aiming to be somewhere else. But after a steep and rough scramble down I decided to try to make something of it. Then the clouds wouldn't cooperate; this was a safety shot taken while waiting for more complete cloud cover. Which eventually came, and wouldn't you know this was the best of the bunch. In fact, probably my favorite of the summer season so far.

Sometimes the subject fully cooperates with a great pose, good eye, good light and a blue sky background. This juvenile Bald Eagle did all of the above. Great to see them migrating once again,.

Spent a wild weekend dispersed camping, patiently waiting for the stars to appear. Several awesome locations were chosen to shoot the stars, the plans had been in the works for years. Mother Nature almost didn't cooperate (we WON'T complain about the rain) but she pulled through at the last minute of the trip. It was an amazing weekend with some of my favorite photogs and I am so glad we were able to make it happen.

After a many attempts to get into the right place at the right time I finally was in position but the weather did not cooperate so it was a challenge to get a brighter shot.

"Have a Great Day"

This little one cooperated by landing on a clear sprig of Scrub Oak with a leaf and two acorns. It is as shot.

You often see white pelicans at Oxbow Bend in Grand Teton National Park. This one cooperated nicely by swimming in front of me in one direction and then taking off and flying by in the other direction. I cropped the image to show more detail which you can see better in the large size..
