Here's a morning shot of Beverley Street in downtown Staunton, Virginia, featuring the Clock Tower, one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. Over the years, I've posted several shots of this view on my photostream.
A magnificent railway clock hangs on a cast-iron bracket on platform 4 of Darlington station in County Durham. Clocks like this one were vital to standardise time-keeping for the rail companies and passengers. In times gone by, the clock would be checked and wound every week.
The story of Prague's Astronomical Clock (Orloj) is a mix of historical marvel and legendary curse.
The creator, Mikuláš of Kadaň (or Master Hanuš), was blinded by jealous city councilors to prevent him from building another masterpiece.
This lead him to sabotage the clock and curse it, causing anyone who tried to repair it to go mad or die.
The clock itself, working since 1410, is a complex medieval device showing time, astronomical positions, and zodiac signs, featuring moving figures of the Apostles and allegorical statues like Death (the Skeleton), Vanity, and Greed, which come alive hourly.

Today, Day 6 of my 20 day self challenge I take a pause from landscapes to share this image. Music often Hijacks our perception of time, making it longer, making it pass quicker, distorting and bending it in varied tempos, directlng the way we dance, celebrate or mourn. This violin Clock in the possession of a friend seems to express this better than words.

This clock sits atop the Mermaid Quay leisure and entertainment complex in Cardiff Bay.
It commemorates Ernest Thompson Willows, a local aviation and airship pioneer who built his first airship in 1905, aged just 19.
His early pioneering exploits resulted in Ernest becoming the first person in Britain to hold a pilot's licence for an airship when the Royal Aero Club awarded him Airship Pilots Certificate No. 1.
The clock is modelled on the early aero engine that would have powered Ernest's airships.
