This was in front of a clock repair shop. I imagine it has been there for a while, but I just recently noticed it. I took it on color, but wsa playing around with effects, and the black and white looked much better.

Having taken this view over 30 years ago, I can finally tell the full story. This is the Memorial Clock Tower in High Street, Emberton, a Buckinghamshire village just south of Olney, off the A509. It was erected in 1846, built in an Early English Gothic style to the memory of Margaret, late wife of the Rector, Thomas Fry. It also commemorates the village fallen of two world wars. The Clock Tower is a Grade II-Listed structure.

The Union Jack is flying at half mast, possibly because this clock tower is dedicated to the men and women of Epsom who died in the two world wars and today is the one hundredth anniversary of the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
