I have this unnatural obsession with putting things in "rainbow" order: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. These chip clips live on my fridge and I force myself to not rearrange them every time they get out of sequence. Gotta keep the obsessive behavior in check.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Old lenses: A funny lot; reveal their character at full open. Typified here by chromatic aboration, blurred and fuzzy edges and the lack of auto focus. Shot at 200mm this is the capacity of this makinon 80-200mm on the olympus mount. Still it has its own interpretaion of conveying an image if that is at all possible.

A very short video clip as the moon is setting where just by chance Robert caught an avalanche off Liberty Wall crashing onto the Carbon Glacier. It's on the right ... don't blink or you'll miss it. The Willis Wall is quite volatile ... if you're anywhere within earshot you will hear the roar of falling rock and ice throughout the day and night.

Fabric scraps put to use. A tutorial is right here.

I'm not sure how I would describe this. I came home late from work for this day and so I actually used a shot from an earlier day that was an outtake and started editing it to my liking. I suppose I was drawn to the idea of how one may feel as if they've fallen from a great height. Icarus from Greek mythology comes to mind; he got too close to the sun and the wax which secured his wings in place melted. He fell to his death. Do you ever feel like you're different people? One year you're this person, and the next you are someone else entirely....

Clip 1: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiiznDpoapQ

Clip 1 is a karate posing video. This clip uses anticipation by slowly moving the hand down the arm to prepare the audience for the fast movements. The more complicated movement when animating would be the arms and hands as they moving fast and changing from several poses in a short amount of time. There’s some follow through and overlapping when the movement of the hands come to a still because there’s still movement in the hands. The legs would be secondary animation because it isn't the most important the movement but it adds appeal and draws the audience into the animation more.

Clip 2: youtu.be/Z2s9ZlenQm8

Clip 2 is from The Artist tap dancing scene. The movement is very fluid and they also use their arms to add to the emotion in their movement, which adds to the appeal. The arms have similar movement to the legs, which exaggerates the movements The anticipation, when they freeze and stare at each other, could have had more timing to make the anticipation stand out. The clips uses slow in and out as they slide their leg it starts out with more spacing and then it decrease as the leg closes. This would add more realism if I was to animate this clip because movement doesn’t have the same speed throughout the start to the end. There’s a moment is the clip when the man goes behind a table which covers his legs and feet movement which would mean I would have to take reference of the woman dancing to apply it to his lower body movement.

Clip 3: youtu.be/H-fJC5EN8LY

Clip 3 is a mime artist performing. The arm and leg is the main body movement for this clip. The movement is very stiff as if you was pulling a robotic arm that was triggering it’s leg to raise. A set driven key would make animating the arm and then triggering the leg to move would make the animation process more efficient. The comparison between the stiff movement and the arc movement of the arm turning around fits perfectly together. The clip has follow through and overlapping on the arm as the lower part of the arm is swinging. This would make an animation more realistic and creates flowing movement which is more interesting for the audience.
