More views of people enjoying a perfect August day at Little Sable Point in Silver Lake State Park, Oceana County, Michigan. The active light is open to the public and can be climbed in season. The keeper's house no longer exists.

A nice look at the BA livery as British Airways Airbus A319 (registration G-EUPK) lines up on Dublin's runway 28 as flight BA829 to London (LHR). The building in the background is Dublin's Terminal 2.

It's been a long winter, but a good macro lens is a nice tool to have in a long winter, however, as there are a lot of interesting things to be discovered in the micro world. The Irix 150mm 1:1 Macro features an excellent build, has good handling, great sharpness, and beautiful bokeh rendering. It is held back by a lack of autofocus and image stabilization, though if you are doing macro off of a tripod that doesn't matter as much. It is priced extremely well, however, which helps make up for what is not there. My review coverage of the new Irix 150mm F2.8 1:1 Macro lens can be seen here:

Progress is visible, security is tight. Large file for your viewing pleasure.
This section is now closed to boating: boats must pass under much farther east, beyond the "Worker Safety Zone" while they begin to equalize the load from the steel decks to the single main cable.
"UPDATED NOTICE TO BOATERS
Boaters are prohibited from passing beneath the new East Span just east of Yerba Buena Island due to the complex load transfer of the Self-Anchored Suspension Span. California Highway Patrol marine units are patrolling the area until October 31, 2012." baybridgeinfo.org/
I was stopped by a CHP boat (lights and siren going) with two polite officers as I went through the closed zone. Ooops! ;D

it might have been a hot looking night that night but at the moment, it is friggin' cold out there right now ;-) In this instance, one can achieve this look just by adjusting your camera's white balance mode...by setting it to cloudy mode, and exposing the scene for several seconds, i was able to achieve a really warm, coppery tone to this image...just cropped the image and gave it a little tonemapping and came up with this nice skyline scene...hope you guys like this one...it gets even hotter if you View On Black
Lake Michigan was very pleasant to wade in on a perfect August day to get this shot of Point Betsie Lighthouse (completed 1858, automated 1983, NRHP 1984) in Benzie County.

THIS IS NOT THE SKY. This is a reflection into a pond taken through a circular polarizer at Miyazaki Japanese Garden, Red Wing Park, Virginia Beach, Virgnia, USA. This is why there is a dead pink azalea flower on the left and some blurriness. The polarizer allows the reflection of the trees and sky to come through.

The Fujinon XF 16-55mm F2.8 LM WR is the premium standard zoom for the Fuji X system. It has a full frame focal length equivalent of 24-84mm, meaning that it can cover everything from landscape to portraits (as you can see in this gallery). While not a perfect lens, it does most everything very well, and the images I was able to get with it really pleased me. My review coverage can be seen here:

Darling I can't stop the rain
Or turn your black sky blue
Well let me show you what love can do
Let me show you what love can do
On the bench you lie all is nails and rust
And the love you've given's turned ashes and dust
When the hope you've gathered's drifted to the wind
It's you and I now, friend (you and I now, friend)
You and I now, friend (*)
I love this place so much but every time I keep staring at the sun going down the horizon, forgetting that there are millions of different ways to capture the beauty of this terrace.
I usually start looking around for different points of view when the sunset is over, meaning it's too dark to start looking around :)

a popular trend among big metropolitan cities nowadays is to offer tours around the cities riding on this two wheeled personal transport units called Segways...no experience, no licence required, just show up, get a quick instruction on how to operate it and away you go with your tour group...i will not vouch to how safe this things are though but they sure do look like a lot of fun watching them zip by...

A trip back into the archive to the glory days of summer. And to imagine I actually debated whether or not to go back to the car for my camera when I say this sunset. So glad that I did. This is the Ottawa River, Ontario, Canada, July 2011
