Made from the circuitboard from an old joystick and a cigarbox. The buttons come from an old keyboard the led from an old receiver and the resistor (inside) from an old computer keyboard. For wiring i stripped a piece of network cable. The result is a midi-controller with 8 note on/off buttons and with the grey button i can select 1 of 6 banks. That's 6x8 = 48 buttons to trigger midi-data...

We've got rain today - lots of it. That's ok. We've got crayons - lots of them. I love the colours and details of this box and contrasting purposes make me smile
Today's Secret: I love colouring. I bought colouring books before I even had the little ones. One of my favourite activities with the kids - verging on Therapeutic.
I found this vintage cigar box last week - it has a sticker on the bottom that says "No cigar may be sold for less than 15 cents!" Wow! That's cheap : ) If only they were that cheap these days. I love sipping on Framboise Lambic when I stitch. It's so delicious and refreshing : ) I got 88 skeins of floss last week for $2.00! Most are vintage - it was a great day at the Goose last Tuesday.
I can't remember how many cigar boxes I had "stuff" in. They were good and sturdy, and free. I would ask the man down at the store to save them for me.
I haven't soldered anything in a few decades. Fortunately, it doesn't take too long to get good enough to wire up a cigar box guitar. I did have trouble with this heavy screw. It took a long time to heat up and the soldering job was a little ugly. I don't think the potentiometers are this heavy.
Summer 2011 I finally built myself a cigar box guitar. I call her "Plain Jane" cause it's a no-frills build. Simple and sweet.
My homemade Cigarbox Guitar after I added a few brass corner protectors and a brass tail piece cover. Not too gaudy but adds a little class!

This box is made of some really nice wood. It is hard to believe that they sell these for $2 or less. A lot of the shops give them away for free.
