I have no idea how many cigars were in this small box, but I find the inside label of interest. I have to assume Manuel Lopez was the manufacturer in 1912 according to the dates on the tax stamps.

Vintage cigar box. Belonged to my Grandmom until recently. Held small bits of treasure for her and now it will hold small bits of treasure for me, along with a bunch of wonderful memories of a very special lady. All photos taken with my absolute favorite camera: Leica d-lux5.

The bottom box, Padron, is a very thin wood box with a good hollow sound. The other 2 boxes are very nice. They are all wood. The dark top is an insert of a darker wood. It has recessed hinges and is well made. I will definitely use these. I found a new shop with some nice boxes this weekend. They have a lot of huge chest type boxes that I will pick up another time. All paper boxes are $1 and all wood boxes are $2, even the huge ones. These boxes are all 11 to 12 inches on the longest side.
Probably 1970s Alba radio, hacked to convert it to a guitar amplifier. Dimensions (in cm. excluding handle) L30 x H19 x D9. Has a tone switch to cut treble and will run on 6 x D type cells. Pretty loud and distorts when cranked full. . See video of it on Cigarbox Nation

My new 3 string slider, Cigarbox Guitar made from a cedar cigarbox, oak neck, mahogany trim on head, purpleheart nut and bridge. Hinge for tailpiece (also ground for strings) single mag pup. I might burn in fret markers yet. The only pieces purchased were the machine heads and oak pieces. Everything else is scrounged (even the strings....LOL), my total cash outlay is 9 bucks.....God I love this stuff!!!!!
So today I had a chance to get back into my art shack. I think I got a fair amount done and though I would take a couple of snaps ala jodie hurt (aka @jodielovescolor.)

I got this from my dad and it originated as storage for my great grandpa's 1955 income. Now I proudly display this on my desk because I am inspired by the typography and colors on this box!
My swap partner likes pin-up girls and I got the idea to make a little "theatre" out of the cigar box instead of a boring old purse. I used to make these when I was little with adding machine tape, pencils and jello boxes. :o)
