Week 1/52, 2017

This week’s theme for my 52 project is “the times they are a changin,” the Bob Dylan song. My year started with the flu and an unplanned hospital stay, which is why I’ve been off Flickr for the last few weeks. I was put on isolation unable to leave my hospital room for almost a week. With limited options, I took this picture from my hospital room window. I liked the clouds and I processed it to give it a cold, winterish look. I felt like the clouds and light gave it the look of coming change.

Change what you're doing... to change what you're getting!

Everybody's Changing

Keane

You say, you wander your own land

But when I think about it, I don't see how you can

You're aching, you're breaking

And I can see the pain in your eyes

Says Everybody's Changing, and I don't know why

So little time

Try to understand that I'm

Trying to make a move just to stay in the game

I try to stay awake and remember my name

But Everybody's Changing, and I don't feel the same

You're gone from here

Soon you will disappear, fading into beautiful light

'Cause Everybody's Changing, and I don't feel right

Going back through some images from our trip down to Cooma, just over a year ago, and I came across this one.

We found this tree, whilst out on a scouting mission for the following mornings sunrise, and it was just screaming out to be photographed, with that cloud behind it.

Hope you like "Everybody's Changing"

Cheers, Mike

changes are inevitable. changes are unavoidable. some avoided change because they cherished everything they have and wishes it will stay the same forever, while others hope for change because they can't bare living another day in misery. change makes you stronger, makes you more fight-ready in case the time calls. change give us hope, something to live for, and most importantly it gives us another chance...some will do anything for a shot at that second chance.

A carpet of Bradford Pear leafs.... & a quick change from fall to winter, as we hit 22F the other morning.... pretty cold for us!

2 of 2 photos taken at Passaic Junction in Saddle Brook, NJ on April 11, 1985.

The hind end of a westbound Conrail empty hopper train on NJT's Bergen County Line crosses the NYS&W main west of Midland Ave.

The NYS&W double track main is still intact at this time, as Sea Land double stack trains and the reopening of the main west of Butler, NJ would not occur for another year or more.

Scanned from 35mm negatives...not my best photos, but a lot has changed since then!

This photo was taken 40 seconds after the one I posted here just before this one. All I did was look in the opposite direction and, all of a sudden, it looked like a summer day :)

Este fotografia foi tirada 40 segundos depois da que aqui publiquei antes desta. Tudo o que fiz foi olhar na direcção oposta e, de repente, parecia um dia de Verão :)

The change of petticoat worked well beause my denim skater skirt had more of a flare to it. The cotton top was not as sexy as the faux leather bodice but it turned out to be a good decision to change my top because the venue was quite warm.

It was much fuller than it has been on recent Fridays due to the live band, who were excellent. They were a blues band and had two exceptionally good lead guitarists. I wish I'd recorded some of their stuff. The highlight for me was a superb rendition of 'All Along the Watchtower'.

So many things changed the way I see myself.

It's like I'm born again, still with the same defects than before, but also with more self-confidence.

It seems I can be truly loved the way I am, and for the first time of my life I start to believe it. It gives me wings, it gives me a new strength, it gives me the freedom to play with my body, my image, without carrying too much about what people can think about it (oh, that was so funny to play the model in this cold and smelly place, people looking at me like I was an alien :D). If I like it, if I enjoy expressing myself the way I do, that's what matters.

The worse moment of my life was the starting point which made me realize I really had to do something, to take care about myself, seriously. Then I would be able to take care about someone I love.

That meant to do sport, to stop hurting myself with food which isn't good for me, but especially to start loving myself and allowing me not to be perfect. For real, this time, not only with words but with actions.

I jumped from this plane in april this year (pure craziness!!!), and not alone. With the most precious person to my heart today. Someone so generous.

By the way, halenism helped me for this pic (and for so much more).

Got bored made a wheat paste. About 2ft tall maybe smaller, will be going up soon. Obviously will be cut out as well.

I changed the perspective for this shot and managed to encompass the northern alpine forest on shore, the spawning substrate and the school of Char. I got lucky, but a lot of thought went into creating this shot. For a detailed account on how these photos were taken, see the first posting I did in this set.

Numerous townships are being over run with large windmills that have changed the landscape dramatically.

So much in this scene may change in the near future as the former Pennsy signals at Port Royal will disappear once PTC is cut in, and the SD80MAC fleet re scheduled for rebuilding in the near future as well to SD80ACUs. Even the bridge in this scene may be replaced.

The smaller 'scapes' of autumn in Ontario's Algonquin Park.

A little bit of autumnal trees and they were changing a couple of weeks back :)

It would have helped closing down the lens by further 2-stops atleast, in getting a full detailed profile. Anyways will take this experience forward in future.

However this individual is a male as can be identified by its head and shoulders which turns bright orange to crimson during the breeding-season and also has a distinguished black throat as seen in the image.

Sometimes males also turn red-headed after a successful battle with rivals.

Another characteristics that makes Changeable Lizards different from other lizards, is that they don't drop their tails and can move each of their eyes in different directions.

Title seems hard to understand. Old parts of St.Pauli (this hairdresser) disappear and the new ones are the "Dancing Towers" it's the reflection in the window. This summer the hairdresser was still on duty, now he's gone. In front of the hairdresser where the "Esso Häuser".

then I will change yours :)

I was looking through my photos from this summer and I came upon this shot of a Canada Goose swimming through a reflection that almost gave it winter vibes. It reminded me that even though summer is over, there will be lots of new opportunities to photograph this winter!
