I find the ripples look quite hypnotic, don't they? Those rusty and menacing chains adds to the experience. A minimalistic shot for being one of mine, but I've considered doing more of them. Might try it out when I go to Singapore.

The fuzzy objects in this image are all galaxies.
This stretched region of galaxies is named Markarian's Chain. It is part of the Virgo Cluster which itself is a part of the Virgo Supercluster. Our Milky Way belongs to the so called Local Group which is also part of the Virgo Supercluster. So these galaxies are kind of our neighbors if you will.
Overall integration time in this image is 53x120 seconds totalling in 1h 46m exposure time. Shot with my little 72/432mm refractor and a OSC (IMX571).

Shot with two off camera flashes (Leica SF 60/Leica C1 trigger) Flash A modified with MagMod MagBounce diffuser.placed in front and slightly above of subject. Flash B placed behind velum scrim used as background and modified with MagMd MagSphere diffuser to shape light.

Irvine harbour dates back to the 17th century when the river Irvine changed its course. A timber quay was built with locally built (William Morgan of Kilwinning) rail mounted cranes in the early 20th century. The wharf remained in use till the 1980's and is now in the care of The Scottish Maritime Museum. The crane stands idle now but appears to be able to resume its former duties if required.

Our life should be getting back to normal here soon. its been a rough few weeks but we are strong and made it through. We are back to homeschooling our sweet one and so happy!!!

HAPPY FENCED FRIDAY!
I could not resist adding a second* off-beat fence photo today. Yet again, the administrators of both Fences and Fenced Friday will have to decide if my photo shows a fence or not.
In any case, this is obviously not your ordinary chain link fence. However, it is highly effective at fencing when it comes to our dog, Stella. She is hyper-short but highly active and often runs under the lower wires or slats of fences to explore what is on the other side. Not in this case. We often pass this "fence" but she never either goes under the chain or jumps over it. Why? You will have to ask Stella. Judging by function, this is, at minimum, a Stella Fence.
