Example for a model of a plant cell might be lacking some labels but good idea none the less.

All those years of dressing for Polar Cubs paid off. Long underwear, thermal socks, snow pants, parkas, waterproof gloves, scarves, and hats meant you could stand outside without freezing into a Cubsicle. During the December 11, 2010, blizzard.

Germ cells are radially organized and polarized in wild-type flies. This orientation, as well as the migration of these cells to the gonads, is lost in flies that lack the G protein–coupled receptor, Tre1. Kunwar et al. explain why. (JCB 183(1) TOC1)

My sister-in-law, who's partially responsible for keeping me alive while visiting California (Her and the Taco shop down the street). We were in a super dark club and what else would you do besides pull out your cell phone while in such a place? She's the one that hooked me up with the DJ shoot in the preceding photos.

One of the few cells that remains locked. Also one of the few places on this whole campus explorers haven't been inside ;)

Nerve Cell. 17/365

For the sake of our Genetics course, today I’ll upload a photo of the nerve cell that I took about three weeks ago. There is a hard journey waiting for you after you rest your lens to the condenser. If you want to capture a clear photograph, of course. Because there is a strong light shining directly to the lens and it is quite hard to make an exposure under these circumstances. If you recognized the nerve cell I’m sure you’re fascinated by the myelin sheath around the axon :)

I put a pull tab into the case through a nifty little slot in the back. Just pull and the phone pops out easily. Ribbon slips back in through the slot easily when the phone is returned to the case with no fuss!

red and white lattice tower, even low flying planes need cell towers.

This is the cell where we produce our most popular product line. It is basically a modern assembly line.

The layout of the cell is shaped like a U. The production process starts at this station, and proceeds around the cell. It culminates at the test station, at the left out of the frame, on the other side of the racks shown on the left.

This product has a lot of configurations, so there are many more parts stored here than appear in any particular configuration. The process is painstakingly designed for single piece flow, meaning nothing is batched. Every unit moves around the cell individually as it's production progresses.

All parts are stored in the cell. Like most manufacturers, we strive to keep minimal inventory, and unlike many we have completely eliminated our stockroom.

The U shape of the cell is somewhat in deference to our corporate overlords. This product takes a lot of stations to build, so the U is an efficient layout. The end of the cell is across the hall from our shipping room. Since this is our most popular product, it makes sense for it's position on the floor to be closest to shipping and receiving. Most of our other cells are also arranged in the U shape, though it is not always efficient when it takes few stations to build a product.. The U shape, counterclockwise flow is pushed by corporate, because it really makes sense in their core business, since most machine tools load from the right. They want it; it doesn't really help us for most of our stuff, but it doesn't hurt either, so we do it.

Sèrie: Obres i Urbanisme. Caixa: 1880-1889).
