The "teens don't need a cell phone until they're driving or moved out" is an interesting idea, and I understand where it's coming from. Kidssurvived for years without cell phones, and they become sort of a social crutch... it's easy to become addicted to texting, which isn't best for the phone bill OR social interaction with peers. I am, however, a firm beliver in the expression "everything in moderation and nothing in excess.I'm not so uptight as to deny my child a cell phone until age sixteen, provided he/she can handle the responsibility (which includes keeping track of it, taking good care of it, and making sure they do not go over their minutes or texts each month). As long as I have that trust in each of my children, there is no need to deny them what has almost become a staple in today's teenage society. If they mess up, then they deal with the consequences: they pay for each text or minute they go over their limit, and Mom and Dad will buy them a new phone once every two years when the contract expires... if they ruin their phone before then, they pay for a new one themselves or they go without. My husband and I do set a 500 text a month limit on our kids' phones as long as we're the ones footing the bill... and believe me, that's not a popular decision among my kids, but they deal. The reason? First of all, money, but second of all, we don't want our kids to have their noses buried in their phones all the time. My daughter's friend sends over 10,000 texts a month. 10,000! That's ridiculous. We just don't want our kids to learn to place too much importence on their phone. Above all, it is just a THING, after all

I'm sure they're very nice people, but I would never want to be these
guys. Standing around with their identical cell phones all trying to
figure out which of them is the king of the apes by who has the most
messages. At one point they were all talking to eachother then in
perfect unison they all reached for their phones and turned their
backs on eachother and walked away with their phone planted agaist
there ears. It was like it had been choreographed. Sychronized Assholes.
Universal solar cell phone battery chargers are available in numerous kinds. The most usual are portable solar panels that have ports through which power moves to your mobile phone battery. Additional mobile phone battery chargers are those that are available in the form of bands wherein solar panels are put up on the exterior surface. Within these bands are nickel steel hydride batteries.

My tattoo of a cell split in half to show the cycle (in yellow) of how mitochondria within the cell transform oxygen & fuel into energy. The cracks show the cell is broken to depict my chronic illness, Mitochondrial Cytopathy. On the left is my husband's name, Eric, shown as close as possible to the real appearance of the lines within the cell. In summary, an emotional & symbolic gesture to thank my hubby for all he's done & to remind me that when I need his strength, it's there and if I don't have enough energy he gives me his.
This cell is very small and forced the prisoner detained in it to stand without moving for however long he or she was trapped in it.
A short film by Tania Raymonde (from Malcolm in the Middle and Lost).
I actually haven't watched it because I don't know if the DVD player will mess up the signature.
Anybody seen it?
I was surprised to see a variety of cell phone holders in the stores. And NO, not cheap plastic, but carved rosewood and sandal wood, bidri work, delicate metal and brass work...wow, they were really good!
Etikoppaka is a village in Andhra Pradesh, India. It is famous for its wooden toys that use natural vegetable and tree dyes. The wood used is soft and has a fine grain and is grown locally.
A little info here.
My golf cart has been chewing up batteries again. It was only two
weeks ago that I swapped out one with a dead cell and I've already
found another. Fortunately the local auto shop can keep up with me. I
picked up these two batteries. Both have potential (all the cells are
good) and they are on the desulfators making their comeback.
The year 12 Biology students have been making cell ultrastruture models, we've just put this one in as work of the week to the headteacher. Our favourite one was made of cake - unfortunately it wasn't terribly accurate but it tasted good!
