Seasonally (when we turn them on and when we turn them back off again), Hank develops a fear of ceiling fans.** He walks around the house, staring upward, with this look of terror on his face. This is a crappy picture of me, but I'm glad we got Hank's face on "film."

**Actually, Hank thinks *everything* is about to kill him. Never has a kitty showered with so much love been so convinced of his imminent, sudden, and violent death at the hands of the very people who love him.

Maybe I oughta toss it all out and put a single recliner in there... Hmmmm

The ceiling fan in my apt. There's just something about it.

I'm not even sure why I like this picture. I just do. Maybe not the most flattering angle. Oh well. My hair is all over the place.

As a side note, tomorrow is day 75. I dyed my hair on days 25 and 50, which means that I should dye my hair tomorrow. I don't think I can afford a box of hairdye for tomorrow. How lame is that?

Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Look at that shoddy work in the back. And to do it in a law firm's office!

Is it just me, or does that vent thingy on the stove make it look like a nuclear device?

I am enjoying going through old images at the moment: Surprising myself by the things I did or didn't do, and had forgotten about.

I love this fan. It is remote controlled even.

I use to take dozens of pictures of it late at night when bored. Of all of those, this is my favorite shot.

October 26, 2021 - Columbus Landmarks Foundation's Building Arts Studio at Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center

"We are proud to announce an innovative, new program at Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center: Columbus Landmarks Building Arts Studio. Fort Hayes is part of Columbus City Schools and includes an Arts & Academic High School and Career Center on the historic 1862 military campus near downtown Columbus.

Working with students enrolled in Fort Hayes’ Construction Management Program, the Building Arts Studio brings hands-on preservation education and training to the curriculum, preparing students for careers in the high-demand historic building trades. The classes take place in the c1890s gatehouse located at the main entrance of the Fort Hayes campus on Jack Gibbs Boulevard. Students will make headway on the restoration and rehabilitation of this visible, campus gateway that has been vacant for decades.

The Building Arts Studio is made possible from a generous $50,000 program grant recently awarded to Columbus Landmarks from the Ann Sherry Foundation, which funds innovation in public education; and from annual operating support from the Greater Columbus Arts Council.

We are honored to embark on this unique public education opportunity not available anywhere else in U.S. Our goal is to create a knowledgeable and skilled workforce to meet local demand while improving the Fort Hayes campus for future generations." new fan in - it sure is nice to have it done, but we bought 2, so Matt's office is yet to come.

Also, look your last on this awful wall color. I hated it since they day I slathered on the first brush-full. Watch for updates later this year...

An experiment in lighting... literally.

This is an idea that I had on Father's Day this year. My family took me out for brunch at a local restaurant and there was a ceiling fan above our table. I noticed the reflection of the spinning fan in the spoon at my place and thought it made a cool effect. I recreated that tonight using one of the fans in our house. This was shot with my Nikon D3100 DSLR. This might be the beginning of a series of videos having to do with reflections in spoons -- still thinking about that.

This is part of the ceiling fan in our living room. Since we live in south Georgia, almost to Florida, ceiling fans in the house are a necessity.

I added the frame to the photo at Picnik. I chose Reflection and chose colors for the outer and inner borders by sampling areas of the original photo.

These are the panels for a ceiling fan. This was one of the many items seen on the Highway 127 Yard Sale. This was in Jamestown, Tennessee the Home of the 127 Yard Sale.

This handsome circular, Classical plaza, ringed by arcades, is actually a piece of transportation infrastructure - a roundabout linking 79th Street with southbound car traffic on the Henry Hudson Parkway, and bicycle traffic on the Hudson River Greenway. This is best understood from the satellite view. If there must be urban highways, and they must have off-ramps, this is some kind of model to consider.

Part of the huge West Side Improvement/Henry Hudson Parkway project, initiated in 1929, moribund in the early Depression years, and completed 1934-1937 under Robert Moses, Commissioner of Parks. The official opening brochure gives design credit to the engineering consultancy Madigan-Hyland, as well as consulting landscape architects Gilmore D. Clarke (Clarke & Rapuano) and C.J. Beakes, together with the Department of Parks staff members Emil H. Praeger (Chief Engineer) and Clinton F. Loyd (Chief, Architectural Design).

First pass on the fan blades. The 2nd coat should completely cover the blades. This paint is oil based so I'm giving them overnight to dry before the 2nd coat.

Anyone know where to get such a fan?

UPDATE: seems the fan is a "Modern Fan" according to these fan fans.
