Opening in 1816 the Wellington Rooms was a subscription assembly room in Liverpool. Later becoming the Irish Centre before its closure in the 1990s, the building is now disused and decaying.

Church of Bethlehem in the Armenian neighborhood.

Not very famous, but beautiful church in Isfahan, Iran.

I’m afraid that you will be fed up with a series of strange pictures uploaded lately. So I will add historical trivia today.

It was in the beginning of 17th century. Persian King Shah Abbas had Armenians come to Isfahan and they showed great talent for commercial and artistic activity. The name of Jolfa District in Isfahan comes from their hometown located near the border with Azerbaijan Republic. Armenians formed their own society based on Christian culture since Shah Abbas guaranteed them freedom of faith in the empire whose official religion was Islam.

Looked up at the Zoo in the gift shop and noticed these lovely shaped light shades.

Looking an absolute plonker, I stood there taking photos of their ceiling.

Changed the colour cast in Lightroom.

Could have used this for my abstract photo for my photo 52 project, but already posted the tree bark.... I like this better.

Not much of the St Louis skyline visible today but UP's MoW forces were unimpeded. Here, the MoW self-propelled unit "train" pulls out of 12th Street Yard and heads west for work on the Jefferson City Sub. The power unit is classified as a "PU3200A-6", reportedly built on an SD40-2 chassis at Relco/Wabtec's facility at Albia, IA.

The theatre "Stora Teatern" ("The Big Theatre"), was inaugurated in 1859 and has been both a dramatic theater featuring opera and operetta and a lyrical theater. Today the building serves as theatre, concert hall and cinema.

The building was designed by architect Bror Malmberg (1818-1877).

Royal ceiling decoration

This was the ceiling in the entrance to the Varlaam monastery at the fabulous area of Meteora ( a UNESCO World Heritage site) , near Volos , Greece. The monastery was somehow "balanced" on the top of a huge natural rock pillar, which was accessed by a steep stone stairway of some 150 steps . The wooden ceiling had an octagonal recess in which this painting was situated.
