Tigger is totally hooked on catnip! I put some in a temporary shelter I got him to get him used to the idea of going inside, and he got wasted! He couldn't get enough!

This has a lovely aroma and is a pleasant herbal tea, easy to grow from seed sown in spring. However, The Cat says that although of passing interest it would be a poor substitute for true Catmint...
A rainbow of catnip bunnies made for the Cats Protection.
Will put the pattern on Ravelry :)
edited to add that the pattern is now up on Ravelry - www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/catnip-bunny
Everyone was loving the catnip I gave them, some of the cats would just roll in it! LOL
Shakira and Metia was off napping somewhere!
For Saturday night entertainment, I showed Jer what happens when you give Nelson a catnip soaked toy. Basically he chased it around, pounced it, drooled on it, crunched it, and eventually passed out from exhaustion. Nelson... not Jer.

I have the real catnip (Nepeta cataria) growing in some flower pots and the new neighbour's cat was very interested in it today. By the way, the flowers of the plant are very popular with bees and i just have to make sure sometimes that the cats let the plants flower....
This is Pops after he had eaten a leaf from the catnip plant we bought at Blenheim today ^..^ Happy Furry Friday x
I got some very new Yeowww! catnip toys for the new two because the (old and faded) nip toys I had from Tikki times weren't apparently thrilling. This has been a favored brand with my cats in past and so odorific I couldn't even miss them once I got them out of the package.
Agate seemed interested in the rainbow and then thrilled with the banana (as per this photo and others too blurry due to her movement - or with flash induced green pupils - but after a little while, she seemed even more interested with smaller faster toys (furry mice, balls in a track toy) and dragging wand toys around. The next day I was working from home and didn't see Agate show interest in either of the two new Yeowww!. So I have to deduce she is not a nip-head. The banana may just be a fabulous toy shape.
Jet completely ignored them, although Jet has been feeling poorly so that may in part be general lack of enthusiasm. But after 30 years with with nip-loving cats things seem to have changed.
