(Nepeta L.)

The favorite place of (not only) my cats.

She came and stood in front of me after she quit playing with her new catnip toy looking a bit spaced out!

Spyder and Marley checking out the samples of catnip on the windowsill retreat.

We hadn't had one for a while, and I figured it was time for some indulgence. A good time was had by all!

Everyone was having a great time!

Catnip (Nepeta cataria) blooms in the open grasslands of Greycliff Prairie Dog Town State Park in Sweet Grass County, Montana. This aromatic member of the mint family is well known for its euphoric effects on cats and its long history of herbal use by humans.

They all gather around for some catnip! You would have thought I opened a can of tuna! LOL

Fynn, slightly stoned after an extended catnip session, the catnip pillow still between his paws. He is unable to move, doesn't react to anything and is totally absorbed in his catnip induced daydreams. I hope the awakening will not be too cruel ! :)

While I was cleaning up on my back porch, Mimzy decided to climb into the lemongrass to get to the catnip.

Cellphone shot from last summer. I think he spent too much time in the catnip patch (upper right of the frame.)

More or less the same spot as the previous shot, just making use of one the tractor lines left from when the field was sown to give a leading line.

Rapeseed in bloom, blue sky with fluffy clouds, an obvious line to aid with composition; it's pretty much photographic catnip. Could you resist?

Every once in a while I put a little bit of catnip on the items the cats use for scratching. I always have to be careful after that, to make sure they don't get into a fight about who can scratch where and when.

Monkey a wee bit high on catnip!

Harry the foster cat showing what nap time is all about. No filter/edits.

Tigger is totally hooked on catnip! I put some in a temporary shelter I got him to get him used to the idea of going inside, and he got wasted! He couldn't get enough!
