After a very dull looking start to the morning. The sun broke through the clouds and gave a beautiful sunrise. I am glad, i did not turn back towards home.

It’s almost two months since I returned from Denali National Park and the season out east is just catching up. Despite the changes, I am still grappling with the range of colors I experienced in the Alaskan tundra. Of course, running into the occasional northern inhabitants is always a thrill. This spruce grouse was more than happy to put on a little display along the road.

I am totally overwhelmed and very grateful for all the comments on my previous photo! Thank you all so much! I really appreciate every single word! And, with all that encouragement I of course had to post another one from the very grey day at the beach last Saturday... There was a very thin light "crack" in the clouds, and I thought this would be an ideal opportunity to apply the "rule of thirds" :-)

...at oak hammock marsh.The guide helps children catch little water "critters" with a net and put them in a bucket. Then an eyedropper is used to pick up one critter at a time to drop in a tiny jar of water for examination under a microscope. (All is put back in the marsh later.)

I keep coming back to this lop-sided picture saying to myself, "but I like it", so here it is.

P.S. Yes, the girl is wearing face paint. Today she is a leopard.

This was taken as we stopped in a lay-by and saw a path up a hill, we decided to climb to get a better view. Once at the top a snow shower passed over us this was the view along with the passing shower. Nr Dinas Mawddwy

Watched the sky go from overcast, to catching fire right in front of my eyes.
