1921 Dentzel Carousel
Dorney Park's 1921 Dentzel Carousel features a 66-piece menagerie, two chariots, elaborate art and scrollwork, and an antique Wurlitzer 153 organ that plays favorite American songs. The ride can hold up to 74 guests per cycle. The original site of the carousel was the Northern Illinois Fair Association, where it operated from 1921 through 1931. In 1932, the carousel was purchased by W.A. Sprague and his son, Ronald, from Exposition Amusement Park in Aurora, Illinois. In 1941, Sprague sold the carousel along with his park to Roger Haney. In 1958, the park was sold to Rolland M. Johnson of Haslett, Michigan, and his brother, Lawrence Johnson of Middletown, Ohio. Cedar Point purchased the carousel from the Johnson brothers in 1971, built a new structure to house it, and opened it to the public in the spring of 1972. In 1995, the carousel was transferred to Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom, where it continues to operate today on the Main Midway just inside the Park Entrance.
Legend states that while the ride operated at Cedar Point, the ghost of a woman would take nightly rides on this carousel after the Park closed on one particular military horse designed by Daniel Muller. This horse remained at Cedar Point after the carousel was moved and is not part of the Antique Carrousel at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom.

This vehicle is branded up for the High Wycombe-Chesham service 4. The pinstripes on the doors still gave away that this hasn't actually been painted out of Wilts and Dorset colours if one looks carefully, its just lost the detail and been rebranded.
As Mal remarked, French carousels travel anti-clockwise whereas ours go clockwise. I'd never thought about it.
Evan was disappointed that he didn't get to ride the carousel at Golden Gate Park the previous Friday, so we made sure that he got to ride the zoo one on Monday,
Carousel MCW Metrobus KYV758X in High Wycombe, heading for Bourne End Station (04/01/10). Had a great ride out to Bourne end and back on this, but on more recent visits it seems the Metrobuses are used for school work only.
This Carousel was relocated to National Mall from Baltimore's Gwynn Oak Amusement Park in 1981. It was part of a small but significant victory of Civil Rights on August 28, 1963 (same day that Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech). Segregation ended at Gwynn Oak that day. The first African-American child got to ride this carousel on that day!
The spectacular antique steam Carousel has taken master craftsmen many years to restore. Be dazzled by the immaculate detail, fabulous lights and romantic carnival music that this ride offers.
The centre engine on the ride was originally steam driven ..toot toot, but is now more appropriately operated by electricity.
The facade is decorated with over 100 cut glass mirrors and 800 lights, making it the perfect ride to enjoy when the sun goes down.

Restored vintage carousel in Janzten Beach Shopping Center, which is a sleepy little mall near my house that I like to shop at because it is so quiet and peaceful, which is rare to find. I was there to get new jacket since mine was stolen in the break-in.

Syracuse, New York is the home of Carousel Mall. It's a rather large mall with many, many shops.
They're undergoing expansion right now and once the expansion is complete - several years down the road - it will be the largest mall in America. Dubbed "Destiny USA" it will house even more shops that you can imagine, some amusement rides and the sort, and will be green as ever as they strive for environmentally friendly processes throughout the newly expanded mall.
It's quite the endeavour and it'll be interesting to see once it is completed... or should I say, whenever it will be completed.
This is the creepiest animal I've seen on a carousel... there was only one here, but it was pretty creepy... a dragon seahorse? a loch ness monster?
