I've taken more pictures of this carousel in the last four weeks than anything else...but this is one of my favourites. The colours are really interesting, especially as it was such a grey and horrible looking day outside.

Santa Monica Pier Carousel. I was stopped by security and asked to sign a statement before taking this shot. It was pretty dramatic, I had to stop by the pier offices. There I was told to read a statement, then asked if I understood, then it was read aloud to me by a guard. I'm surprised I didn't have to swear on a bible. For the record...no, I will not profit from this freaking photo!

This carousel is in the Piazza Repubblica. I took this photo right before sunset, which really made the colors look warm and wonderfully saturated. The sense of movement and the off balanced look truly makes you feel like you could be riding the carousel yourself.
