I had to fiddle quite a bit with the drip making apparatus to get this image. Two drops colliding.

The refracted image in the background is a painting of my wife's. A tree in the form of a naked woman representing spring or summer. You can see some of the detail in the drop column below the splash.

Although I recently bought a photogate trigger I can't use it for colliding drips - the drips have to fall too quickly for that.

Thanksgiving Night Cap" Thanksgiving night 2012 celebrating with family at my sisters cabin on the lake and as the festivities inside the house were in full swing, i sat outside with a beer and my camera gazing at the stars. Moonlight illuminated the landscape and the stars shined bright. I decided to create a vertical panoramic starting with my seat and ending with the sky. This 3 image vertical pan was shot and stitched with intention of showcasing the beautiful night sky over northwest New Jersey. Enjoy!

We've been in a deep cold spell here in Fairbanks, first one in 5 years. Temperature bottomed out at -53F, this morning it's warmed up to -37F with the weatherman predicting balmy temperatures of +10F tomorrow. Both me and the birds can hardly wait.

This is a black capped chickadee. They are showing their respect for the temperature by being all puffed out for additional insulation and being tolerant of me taking their photos by the feeder.
