A Red-capped Plover meticulously preens its tail feathers. Easy to see how its plumage allows it to effortlessly blend into the seaweed-strewn beach.
This visitor perched on the birch tree that was just outside our front 3-season room. Perfect for picture taking. Taken at our cottage in Pensaukee, WI

Turk’s cap is a perennial, deciduous, shrub-like plant native to the Southeastern United States. It produces small (2-3 inch) red flowers that resemble a closed-up hibiscus. In the Malvaceae family, it is also commonly known as wax mallow, Texas mallow, manzanilla, and sleeping hibiscus, among other common names.
This plant flowers in the summer and fall (from May to November) and the flowers attract hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, and other insects. You may also find pink and white flowered cultivars of this plant.
The common name Turk’s cap comes from the appearance of the flowers. They are thought to resemble a Turkish hat called a fez.

Ils traversaient le sentier principal au Cap Bon-Ami. Les porcs-épics sont particulièrement lents, mais heureusement il n'y a pas de voiture sur cette partie du sentier.
They were crossing the main trail at Cap Bon-Ami. Porcupines are not speed monsters, but fortunately there are no cars on this trail.
this little Black-capped Chickadee was putting the snow to good use by using it as a water source :) makes your day to watch them! My work week starts again today...not sure where the weekend goes lol....hope you all have a great day/night...many thanks for your visits! Will catch up later!

I spent the weekend exploring the northern edge of the White Mountain National Forest, and was in awe most of the time. This shot was one of those moments. Stopped off at Wildcat Mountain for my first snowboard turns of the season. Epic.!

Captain America's shield is physically indestructible under normal conditions; while cosmic and godly opponents have broken his shield, the shield proves strong enough to absorb Hulk's strength, and repel an attack from Thor's mystical hammer Mjölnir without any visible damage, and in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the shield is also shown to be able to cushion falls from great heights. Cap's Shield is also able to absorb all kinetic energy and transfers very little energy from each impact, meaning Captain America does not feel recoil or transferred impact forces from blocking attacks. These physical properties also means the shield can bounce off of most smooth surfaces, ricocheting multiple times with minimal loss in aerodynamic stability or velocity.
You can see Captain America, and his shield, at Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in New York's Times Square. It's a great place to visit for locals and tourists alike!
