The British High Commission organised a capacity building workshop on 15 and 16 September 2015 in the Maldives to raise awareness of mental health issues.

A capacity crowd attended United Way's Annual Community Breakfast on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at the Poughkeepsie Grand. The event honored two community champions, Dr. Pamela Edington, President, Dutchess Community College (DCC), and Dr. Kristine Young, President, SUNY Orange, as well as two Champion Nonprofits, Nicole Fenichel-Hewitt, The Art Effect and Linda Muller, Cornerstone Family Healthcare. In addition there was a surprise performance by students in the DCC Performing Arts Associate in Science Degree Program - Melissa Ansari, Hailey Gallinari, Chloe Kramer, Benjamin Simonetty, Jonah Woodcock and Samantha Vega and a surprise check presentation by Key Bank Market Director David Lewing for scholarships at the two colleges. The event kicked off United Way's 2019 Campaign, raising almost $52,000 for its work in our local community. Photo by Nicole Puckette Photography.

Built in 1977 as the Jean Parisien; converted in 2004 to CSL Assiniboine.

The Assiniboine are Indians living in present-day Saskatchewan, Canada, with tribes in northern Montana and western North Dakota in the United States. They share a common ancestry with the Dakota Sioux, with the Assiniboine separating from the Sioux prior to 1640. Originally located in the Lake Superior region, the Ojibwe, who had traded with French for firearms, gradually pushed the Assiniboine (and other Dakota peoples) west onto the northern plains.
