Are those Klingon Warbirds painted on the bottom?

The US Air Force calls these the Texan II following on from the WW-II era AT-6 Texan. In Canada it was the Harvard Mk.II or Mk.IV so we call these the Harvard II. Some people in ATC call them the Texan II as well. All very confusing. Anyway one of the pair that came in today is the retro WW-II livery example, which now has a mis-matched lower cowling.

The incomparable Snowbirds, officially known as the 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, are the pride of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Flying their iconic CT-114 Tutors, they push the limits in a breathtaking ballet of precision, grace, and teamwork, all while making it look effortless. Wherever they appear, the Snowbirds are not just a performance, they are the highlight of the entire air show. 🍁

==================================

Big day today, our son now "belongs" to the Canadian Forces.

This morning we had an information session about the life in the army. Then we witness the ceremony where the new recruits sworn in for the Forces.

After completing his basic training (which will begin in 2 weeks), Cédric will join the Navy as a "Naval communicator".

It was nice to see these people, ready to do the sacrifices to take control of their destiny.

We are so proud of Cédric, it was a lot of emotions for us, above all, we are so proud of him!

Most of us finally gave up trying to stay awake and just took a nap.

Canadian Forces CF18

This building was completed in 1911 as part of the expansion of the Canadian Militia program that was started essentially by Issac Brock in 1811. The expansion allowed The Canadian Expeditionary Force sent to Europe during the First World War to be more effective.

This building for me has particular importance as during the 1990s it was home to both the Army and Air Cadets in Niagara Falls. This building has a special place in my heart, and is filled with great memories. It houses a Range, Drill Hall, Mess, and Air Raid Siren. At the end of it's life it was associated with the 56th Field Regiment, 10th Battery of the Royal Canadian Artillery.

Currently it is the temporary home of the Niagara Falls Museum while it's building is being renovated and expanded. Sadly this building was sold to the city and is currently not in active use by a permanent tenant.

For the initial image I have done the processing in Lightroom 4, however it was shot with HDR in mind and I will eventually do this as a full HDR, though I'm very happy with how this came out.

The graffiti in the male toilets might suggest a greater divide between Quebec and ROC (Rest of Canada, read Mordechai Richler for more on this term) soldiers than between them and the Taliban. You can view large to appreciate the debate, but I'll summarize: Franco soldiers are queers and possibly also FLQ sympathizers. Anglo soldiers are bastard Canadian idiots. And someone, maybe a Dutch or Brit soldier, is wondering why they can't all get along.
