Saw these guys take-off this morning to do a couple fly-overs for the Calgary Stampede Parade, they climbed to 9000ft and did a hold over Chestermere Lake before ripping over downtown. Not a super shot, but I figured since everyone else is posting CF-188's this week I'd join in LOL. DJRXXS got a better shot: www.flickr.com/photos/26949422@N05/2635656318/
Ships and Rainbows the two most awesome things ever. Unfortuantely the ships are weapons of war, but we can ignore that fact... they were being surrounded by love and peace.

This was 719's last airshow. After this she'll be dismantled never to be seen again. If nothing else, she sure would make an excellent gate guard somewhere...

The Canadian Forces patrol craft training vessel Grizzly PCT60 (Orca Class) passing Cusheon Cove on Saltspring Island in the channel between Saltspring and Prevost Islands.
Strangely peeling old fuselage section tucked off to the side of the museum building. I tried fiddling around with some processing to make it appropriately psychadelic, but couldn't come up with anything.
A soldier is many things to many people, but to only one is he known as "Daddy". And for Daddy it is the first reason why he wears the uniform.

I'm a bit late posting this, but I am no less proud of my husband, Paul who is pictured here laying a Wreath of Remembrance to honor his father who served in the Canadian Forces as a tank commander during WWII. I'm sure Paul's father was as proud of his son on this day as Paul was of his father!
116845 started her career with the silver livery and in the 80s and 90s, 845 had two different camouflage paint schemes, picture probably taken around 1976/77...
In 2022, 845 is still flying in the US as N845PS with Tactical Air Support, based in Nevada. She still has the last camo livery from her CAF days including the fake canopy below the fuselage.

The only statue left standing in Caen. In fact it is the only thing made by man that was left standing. The whole city is just a heap of rubble.
The Canadian Army began staff training in England during the Second World War. Staff training moved to Canada, and four-to-six-month courses were delivered for a short time at the Royal Military College of Canada. After the Canadian Army Staff College became a formal part of the Canadian Army, the college moved to Fort Frontenac in 1948. In 1975, the college was renamed the Canadian Land Force Command and Staff College. In 2011, the college was renamed the Canadian Army Command and Staff College.
