Using call-sign "Nightmare 89", this CF-188 ripped apart the air over CYYJ in a couple of knife-edge circuits. The 2nd time around I was ready, but so fast I still only had time to bang off this one shot (un-cropped)

Nearly 500 runners participated in the 30th Anniversary Terry Fox Run at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. Over $19000.00 was raised at Kandahar Airfield during the Terry Fox Run and Terry Fox head/beard shave fund raiser. JTF-Afg is Canada’s military contribution to Afghanistan. Canadian operations focus on working with Afghan authorities to improve security, governance, and economic development in the country..

I'm a bit late posting this, but I am no less proud of my husband, Paul who is pictured here laying a Wreath of Remembrance to honor his father who served in the Canadian Forces as a tank commander during WWII. I'm sure Paul's father was as proud of his son on this day as Paul was of his father!

Their goal was to speak with Kandahar city residents about their needs and living conditions...The KPRT consists of Canadian Forces members, a civilian police contingent led by the RCMP, Correctional Services Canada, representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and the Canadian International Development Agency. Ottawa based Canadair F-86E, owned by Vintage Wings of Canada, paid a visit to CYYJ prior to participating in the Nanaimo Air Show

Ships and Rainbows the two most awesome things ever. Unfortuantely the ships are weapons of war, but we can ignore that fact... they were being surrounded by love and peace.

The naval destroyer sits in the Halifax harbour overnight before docking the following morning.

Since re-serialled 130306, this is the 2nd C-130E Lockheed Hercules (first 4 were C-130B) acquired by the Canadian Armed Forces and still in service with 413 Sqdn at Greenwood/NS as of 2009

116845 started her career with the silver livery and in the 80s and 90s, 845 had two different camouflage paint schemes, picture probably taken around 1976/77...

 

In 2022, 845 is still flying in the US as N845PS with Tactical Air Support, based in Nevada. She still has the last camo livery from her CAF days including the fake canopy below the fuselage.

Lt(N) Robichaud was awarded the CDS Commendation for exceptional leadership as an Officer of the Watch in HMCS Winnipeg while deployed to the Persian Gulf ..
