An aging McDonnell CF-101B Voodoo of the 425 Squadron Alouettes on display in Lévis, Quebec, Canada.
Such fighter jets operated between 1961 and 1987 and were stationed in Bagotville, Quebec.
The Voodoo's primary armament were nuclear AIR-2A Genie unguided air-to-air rockets with a 1.5 kiloton warhead, designed to destroy Russian nuclear weapons armed bombers.
They replaced the obsolete Avro CF-100 Canuck.

Victoria class submarine HMCS Corner Brook of the Royal Canadian Navy docked at the Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver, BC. The RCN brought her into Vancouver as part of a post refit shakedown cruise. She had spent the last decade in the drydock after suffering damage from running aground. Now the refit and new technologies has made her the most advanced sub in the fleet. The Corner Brook wasn't opened to the public but she was still cool to see, not every day you can photograph a submarine.

The National War Memorial in Ottawa was originally built to commemorate Canada's sacrifice in the First World War (1914–18). It now honours all of Canada's war dead. Sacrifices made in the journey from war to peace are symbolized by a series of bronze figures emerging through a great arch. Overhead, two figures symbolize peace and freedom.

This concludes the last of the pics taken at the National War Memorial. It's also the last from my trip to Ottawa, although I may post one or two in the future. I enjoyed sharing them with you!

Another from the archives for the theme of Awe. Seen here are members of 431 Air Demonstration Squadron Team (aka the Snowbirds) who were in Kingston Ontario Canada on June 18th, 2008. Flying over Lake Ontario, the team flew around our UNESCO World Heritage site, Fort Henry, helping to mark the first sunset ceremony of the season.
As always, our Armed Forces Ambassadors put on an excellent show and made me proud to be a Canadian as well as a retired member of the Armed Forces. I am in awe of these pilots and what they can do in the sky with these airplanes.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my little space here on Flickr.

No Abbotsford International Airshow this year due to Covid-19, but at least can look at the Canadian Forces McDonnell CF-101 Voodoo at the Abbotsford International Airport Sign and reminisce about Airshow's past.
