Trying out this remarkable Konica Minolta Dimage 7 with infrared filter. No mods, nothing, and it turns out such impressive IR shots! They just don't make 'em like this anymore!

"Mesmo quando tudo pede um pouco mais de calma
Até quando o corpo pede um pouco mais de alma
A vida não pára
Enquanto o tempo acelera e pede pressa
Eu me recuso faço hora vou na valsa
A vida é tão rara
Enquanto todo mundo espera a cura do mal
E quem quer saber
A vida é tão rara (tão rara)
Mesmo quando tudo pede um pouco mais de calma
Até quando o corpo pede um pouco mais de alma
Eu sei, a vida não pára (a vida não pára não)
Será que é tempo que lhe falta pra perceber
Será que temos esse tempo pra perder
E quem quer saber
A vida é tão rara (tão rara)
Mesmo quando tudo pede um pouco mais de calma
Até quando o corpo pede um pouco mais de alma
Eu sei, a vida é tão rara (a vida não pára não...a vida é tão rara)
A vida é tão rara."

Blustery northwesterly winds were whipping up waves on Lake Macquarie this afternoon. They were tamed photographically by an ND filter and long exposure, but the wind's impact on some of the fringing vegetation is even more evident.

This capture reminded me of a more peaceful time, time of calmness.
I love the way the window lights hits the lamp and violent. I have a B&W verison, which is also nice and it is posted. I like both version as the both evokes a sense of calmness.

Following along with a pelican cruising on Wascana Lake, it was headed for Pine Island, which is barely visible in the background.
Yessyes. Just one of "those" photos.
The generic in focus, okay lighting, hair blowing in the wind shot.

Cool beans.

After a long busy week I took what I hoped would be a stress relieving walk around the Sunnyvale Wetlands Preserve before heading home. Unfortunately my camera chose this afternoon to die on me, but I was able to get a few shots off first.
I typically upload in small sets - don't just look at the latest one in my photostream as you might be missing something you'll like more.... and your comments are ALWAYS welcome :)

Photo captured on Coastal Drive within Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park via Minolta MD Celtic 28mm f/2.8 Lens. Humboldt County. On the last day of 2013.
An afternoon off work and a visit to Calla Beck pond. I was beginning to think nothing would show when this Broad Bodied Chaser arrived. He seemed nervous, at first, every time I moved to a nice angle he flew. Then he landed away from the pond and sat still as I moved closer and closer. I managed to approach to about 6 inches and took about 20 shots. He seemed calm, briefly! I was amazed to get so close, as I was wearing a white shirt!
